:eek:..I took a folder any, all 3 versions Precomp were tested on the same folder.:)
Also removing the mp3 files and leaving only the image files will not change the result....the best compression remains on Precomp045..;)
In addition, the test performed with versions Precomp using PackJPG for JPG recompression, PackMP3 for MP3 recompression (packJPG library v2.5j) & (packMP3 library v1.0f ):rolleyes:
Personally I think that the precomp45 will bring a marked difference compared to the younger brothers.:p

just wait and check what new masks 2.4 brings :P you will work for days trying to update
here is a quick test, my optimized precomp vs this precomp you posted felice :)
Total Data used : 765 MB
Method used : precomp+static+xz
Precomp 0.45 :
Install Started - 18:29:16.07
Install Finished - 18:39:02.27
total : 9 minutes 44 seconds
My optimized precomp 0.45:
Install Started - 18:44:18.57
Install Finished - 18:53:15.54
total : 8 minutes 57 seconds

Bravo!!!:D;)
Felice2011, how can I decompress this? Can you give me the arc.in code for precomp 0.45

unpackcmd = precomp -o$$arcdatafile$$.tmp -r $$arcpackedfile$$.tmp
Some games works better with precomp038, others work better with precomp042 and others with 043/044.

It is a question or a statement...:confused:
Statement from my experience with precomp. Some games 038 is only one which work without errors like Dragon Age Inquisition.
In other 042 give same size result to 038 but 042 is much faster than 038.
044 when works give the smaller final size, but 042 is faster than 044.
Example from test with 115mb file from Darksiders:
038= 88mb in 141sec
042= 88mb in 103sec
044= 82mb in 151sec
But i compressed full game(Darksiders) with 038 and 044. With full game 038 was much slower to finish, like 5+hours and final size was 7,03gb. 044 take around 3 hours to finish and final size was 6,60gb.
Bad thing is, decompressing 044 take 50 minutes while 038 take only 30 minutes.

which version "packjpg_dll.dll" did you use on precomp 0.38?
because there are many kind of "packjpg_dll.dll" version. and that is why the time and size can change on the same precomp.exe(for example 0.38)
if you want to use Jpeg compression, you should chose packjpg_dll.dll(137 kb)
buti if you want to skip that, you can use the OTHERs (9-10 kb)
038 and 042 was used same PackJpg-Profragger 0.2.2(9kb).

038 and 042 was used same PackJpg-Profragger 0.2.2(9kb).
if you use packjpg_dll.dll(on 0.38 or 0.42)(137 kb), it would be similar(size and time) compressed file with precomp 0.44 :D
if you use packjpg_dll.dll(on 0.38 or 0.42)(137 kb), it would be similar(size and time) compressed file with precomp 0.44 :D
But yet 042 was much faster than 038 using same PackJPG. But there is not only time variance, there has compression ratio and some times compatibility of some files with only 038.
In Dragon Age Inquisition using same PackJPG 042 caused error, while 038 finished without problem.

yes it is true, sometimes it would go to error on precomp 0.42 (with packjpg_dll 137kb). but when you use packjpg_dll(9-10kb), it will work completely without error. (but , compression ratio and time could change)

For Dragon Age Inquisition 042 with PackJpg(9kb) cause error and only 038(9kb) finish the work without problems.

no it is not same for me, i compressed that game 5-6 months ago, there was no error on precomp 0.42 (with PackJpg(9kb) . i did it without error. but it take too much time (16-17 hours or maybe more, i have remembered like this)
I use "packjpg_dll.dll" (0.2.3.0 PrecompInside 8.85kb), and MD5 values "899143f81093a23738efee9f4937ab36"
precomp version 0.42 (205 kb original). you can try these on the games.
