To show you my Gratitude for your continued support, i decided to roll Masked Compression v2.2
i already posted everything in the main post
so to change climate i will post some photos of my tools under usage :)
if you happen to test them :) give me your honest opinion
A) Would you like for me to add a new feature ??
B) Do you think i missed something important ??
anything you want i will test and add if i see potential

Do not worry I do not update beta versions tester on my utility..;)
You run too much with your masks...:D, you have added the mask for the recompression data in MP3, not hear any difference in the optimization of compression threshold.
Tests executed on a data folder mp3 approximately 234MB
Masked method used for Test: "precomp+msc+srep64+delta+exe2+lz77/$jpgsolid=jpg+zstd/$mp3solid=mp3+zstd/$void=srep64+zstd/$text=nz"

Personally, I may be wrong, I not have so much experience in data compression, but exceed on a number of algorithms containing in the method multi-maschera, involves a loss of a compression stream, increasing the compression time, and decreasing the compression threshold.

Hmmm use the mask directly .... test this maskless
and remove msc :P
both msr and msc can compress mp3 files ...either -mp3=0 or remove msc entirely from the test
to see if my mask really works :P else i need to find what it goes wrong :/

I had already tried...
The compression level of an audio file (*. mp3) and higher using a profile with MSC.
The same level of audio compression the lowers considerably by using MSR.
I'm sorry but I prefer to MSC

MSR(precomp0.45) is masked for only mp3 that are found on the folder,
if you pack your music library or photo library you will see difference,
MSR(precomp0.45) as it is now it doesnt replace msc in any way :) but the jpg part of it is worth it and of course its smaller size :P

precomp.45 offers a bit of mp3 recompression, along with bug fixes on a long forgotten packjpg.exe 2.5j edition, regarding memory leaks
this is the main reason that i switched to jpg compression with precomp0.45 :P
also jpg with precomp.045 is a little more optimized at least for me
Panker you did a mistake for the Ram Optimization, you didn't added mp3 method in the arc.ini
EDIT - but i copied from the arc.ini orginal from the masked compression 2.2

I get this no matter what method I use to compress the archive, upon extraction, everytime I see this, and DLG's extractor tells me my disk is full (likely needs memory parameter tweaking) -_-

I need to post, a very nasty bug i fixed yesterday but it has nothing to do with decompression
it's high likely that you have a leak somewhere please post what you compress

I've tried it with the previous 0.38 precomp implementation, it still gave me the some error regarding disk being full.

Compress with version (2.1) posted by Panker, version (2.2) does not use it, I think it works for new updates.
Give it a try and let me know if the extraction works with the DLG Extractor or Decomp Tools.
Edit: disable your antivirus during the operation.

is it possible to somehow make the progress bar during the installation smoothly? When using this method of compression is not a smooth progress bar and then hangs up and goes to 100%

Hello Dear Community, as of yesterday i am fixing a VERY VERY nasty BUG
i haven't finished fixing it , took me longer than i expected
but i hope when its done, Masks will surely look different
regarding this bug, it fixes masked compression file misdetection
i have found that if many masks are used in parallel detection will not work and files will be compressed using different method
so i decided to make new masks from scratch and write a new arc.groups
to make packing detect correctly and use all tools in the process
i am so taken in by this new work, that i didn't even log in the forums :/
allow me some time, and please use absolutely masks 2.1 legacy to work with

I am in the middle of fixing a very serious bug, i have almost finished and my solution works
please use masked compression v 2.1, or wait for v2.3
i am testing my masks and my new v2.3 might be up by tomorrow
i cannot promise anything :) but i hope tomorrow it will be there

i think the most solid work i did so far :)

There is no best algo, every algo play within 3 dimensions
one is compression speed
second is ratio
third is decomp speed
Every algo can have 2 out 3 from the above virtues, so a masked process will always win over the classic process
no algo can have all the above, nanozip has best compression ratio but in terms of speed both comp and decomp it's useless
if there was a perfect algo then this masked thing would be useless :/

yes, but with Bink make sure you keep back up of the original files ...
not all .bk2 files are supported
assassin creed can only scale percentage, you cannot downscale to 720p for example
you need to remove the /i5 parameter from bk2_enc.bat and use only the percentage parameter else it doesnt work

zstd is superior to lz5, if you want to turn your zstd into a lz5 fast just lower to this switch
from -9 turn it to -1 with this you are on lz5 ground, in decompression you wont feel the difference anyways

Felice i am working on 2.4, only today i took a long break to breathe some fresh air.
I dont want to change masks either :/ but my private chat is flooded but requests for different programs and different methods :/
to the point that either i will do what most want, or follow my plan to letter :P
i simply want to satisfy as many as i can :P the only mask that i changed myself what adding the msr (precomp0.45) and maybe fixxing the nasty bug
And bro, here one more feature you can add -
Add precomp0.43 additional, so that everyone can use precomp/precomp0.43, because some games compress very well by precomp0.43, like you can add precomp0.43 in the arc.in, and there will be precomp0.38 too!
EDIT : actually precomp brute doesn't work on precomp0.38, and brute works amazingly on 0.43, so I think it is a good idea!

I think that the substantial modification to the release of the MSK and to leave the user the ability to write and rename the name of the masks, for future updates. MSK will have at your disposal only two masks pre-configured in default, the other two empty.

More masks = better optimization
Each mask has a different story and I had to study endlessly to create each and everyone, to put this in simple terms no repack ever created could beat masks both in comp/decompress speed and in ratio :P
I once went in carnival in Venice Italy loved it :)

Hehehehe, panker1992, you remembered that you also got this problem with precomp 0.45, and kenzo was saying that he was able to decompress well with inno but not with unpacking tools, so why not you try precomp 0.45 with inno and try to extract it, I hope it will be extracted!

[Masked Compression 2.5]
masks 2.5 are here but this time a minor release
1) third mask was beta last time, now it aint ...it works out of the box with great success
2)precomp 038 remade, and optimized from scratch, precomp 0.38 is custom
and it is faster than all other precomp, on my test precomp 0.45 took 9 minues almost
and precomp0.38 took 5 minutes and 35 seconds ( test file was 700 mb file )
precomp038 set to slow mode and prrecomp 0.43 for brute mode, more of this in arc.ini
3) legacy2 works again since precomp038 is added again
4) msc is disabled, but you can enable it yourself, i did a proper test with this and reflate doesnt work with msc
plus the ratio was increased and not decreased (if you dont believe me i can post results and you can always test yourself)
5) zstd doesnt work with my config anymore... it took errors i had to reformat entire pc and again didnt ( that was enough for me to cast it aside tho i left the sonido )
and the option for you to re-enable it
6) msrsolid mask and void mask are better optimized !!!

it comes disabled by default that doesnt mean that i threw it away :)
this set of tools is flexible you can enable disable whatever you want or even put other tools in there to work with
i provide my set and my defaults, that doesnt mean they are the perfect, thus the options and choices
for me msc is an obsolete tool because i use another tool which isnt provided in here that doesnt like it at all :)

To update, simply download that precomp i posted now and replace the precomp in the resurces file on WPI and Black box
Do not update the precomp that masked compression uses for compressions
You do not need to recreate the data1.bin all over just this update compile the source and run it

This is not the whole game panker its just first two dlc folder and some exe files and dlls. So in this mainly dlc10 and dlc11 folder and error comes in dlc11 folder extraction. And dlc11 folder contain dead king dlc.
Even I succesfully compress ~9 and ~13.5 gb Singles file but why this gives me error. See screenshot of Assasin creeed unity single 14 gb file and that file extract succesfully. So please take a look and reply

But as of late, I have noticed that with the latest release, compression ratio has taken a huge hit, as I don't see the inclusion of MSC anymore. So I had to backtrack to one of your older release of Masked Compression, Likely 2.3, and took the methods from there. Can I ask you a few question in your PM, if you don't mind?

masked compression supports names not only extensions, so with that said you can mask pretty much any name with any extension you want :D
But bro, I tell you one thing seriously, that lzt was best, can you add it also in v2.6, so users will have choice to use that also! Lzt was/is/will best!

also added a new stripped edition for x86 support, xz supported zstd is also supported and msr (precomp045) is also for x86 version windows
this is far from complete but for those who use x86 will save serious space

Unfortunately I dont have a clue to what state it is but probably 1 or 2 GB limitation, please dont think bad at us ... reflate is troublesome program.

bik and bk2 files ?? best compression is srep only, they are uncompressible even if you run lzma or nanozip on them they yield no compression, they stay 100% ratio
i already have them in void masks so no need to worry ( its lossless )

with the exception of 2 or 3 mispell bugs i always try to bring out the tools to work out of the box,
Due to different machines and Architecture there can be errors, i will try to make a full Document on how everyone can interact with commands and troubleshoot on their own !!!
I decided to do this because people do not read what other people have said and i find myself answering the same question over and over and over again :/

lzturbo and lzham leave tmp files man ... this is why i didnt want them in
xz is better in both compressio nratio and its bugless ....
try WPI and then if you get errors as well replace with xz which is better overall
Panker bro, you are a good programmer also, so why not you edit unarc.dll and make it compatible to show progress with xz also, because for 6gb archive xz doesn't show any progress for 10min and because still, if you can do some programming and make progress with xz support then it will be great!

any program you see <stdin> <stdout> shows correct progress
you probably made a mistake somewhere :/
xz is lzma2 and nothing else, how lzma normally supports stdout likewise xz does as well
Every feature that lzma1 has is inheritage to lzma2 as well ....
check your problem and post again
Edit: try packing a 10 GB game using srep and xz and NOTHING else, then run WPI progress bar will show normally :)

audio files arent easily compressed though msc can handle them i think if they are wav or mp3 at least.
on top of them srep although it wont do much, and after xz(lzma2) which will also wont do much
audio is incompressible in many ways.

there is a lot game data extractor like msc but they can't rebuild the data.I tried to compress a game's data after using these extractors i gave better results (compression ratio) but i can't rebuild this data ex. reflate can extract gta 5 datas it gave better result in gta 5 or mad max

Compressing *.pck file with msc doesn't yield u any good results as they contain wav which aren't pcm supported or something like that and even ogg cann't process it (this is same for all assasin creeds)
So its better to compress them with zstd

This will pretty much solve the issue, also why pack using zstd and not step alone ?
In my new 2.5 masks srep handles the data that are non compressible.
It has also come to my attention that recompressing data is the future as games industries go and make 60 gb games, they come prepacked. People here need to start taking recomp seriously

i am planning to update reflate to a custom version of *Free* reflate, it will have the ability to take 4 GB input against 2GB that it takes now :)
i will talk with Razor is he allows its good, else you will get the update 3 one he provided not so long ago

I hope there will be news to overcome the wall of 2GB with reflate, if we stay with the update 3, reflate very little will be used, and is a shame because it is a great compressor.:)

the limiting factor of 4 GB is there and will always be there because of usage of original reflate the one Eugene Shelwien created in 2011.
this is our most recent efforts me and Razor literally take no breath as to what reflate can do, hopefully these pictures will de-stress you, this reflate literally knows no bounds as input can be as high as 1 TB and speed can be
70mb/sec to stdout :D

This Reflate is made by Razor and Panker, it supports dual architecture, both x86 and x64
were used for the sake of comparison all tests were run equally without background apps running and on RAMDISK.
Me and Razor decided to throw in conversions, which means you will download our tools and use our inis to speed up processes by up to 50 times.
Until this is ready enjoy the following Slideshow :D
This sample was tested on Panker1992, PC running in sequence
1 then 2 then 4 and finally 8 cpu cores.
the command line and times are visible in all tests.
-m = Method used supporting in x86 m1, m2 and m3 and in x64 m1 and m2 are supported for now
-t = number of threads ( this reflate can support from 1 to 240 threads )
-l = level of compression ( zlib's original from 1 to - 9 )
SUBNOTE : at shown in the picture while using 8 threads, because the size of the file is small speed is actually throttled.
so i provided a photo using -t6 so scaling reasons :)

when we will see 2.6 and can you add fastpaq8 (fp8.exe). it's slower than nanozip :D but it has good ratio

it's been a while, Yes I have 2.6 almost ready, but no fresh ideas.
I didnt have any feedback as to what people want to see inside the masks.
i will provide a video Tutorial, along with 2.6
and fp8 since you so much want it :D
