Presenting UltraARC for Inno Setup

What does the program do?

This program allows you split freearc, 7-Zip and winrar archives in so that they may be able to fit in media
or volume output of your choice, CD700s, DVD5s, DVD9s, BRD25s, BRD50s, doesn't matter, it
will fit.

Compression level 0 is Freearc no compression
Compression level 1 is WinRAR fastest compression
Compression level 2 is 7-Zip normal compression
Compression level 3 is WinRAR best compression
Compression level 4 is 7-Zip ultra compression
Compression level 5 is Freearc with Srep, Delta, Exe and LZMA Compression
Compression level x is Freearc with Precomp, MSC, Srep, Delta, Exe and LZMA Compression

Distribution is ideal for making one compression but support any media the user chooses.

For example, users can just select DVD9 or CD700 for GTA V, just depends on what the user has, so no one is forced to buy BRDs to make the conversion because some of us still don't have BR-RW

I almost forgot to mention, setting smaller thresholds is essential for disk space for both compression and installation. (But not too small, you will end up with something like data553.cab.part69)
But sometimes, you won't have a choice because threshold is sometimes controlled by the program, this only happens when you have set a smaller threshold than the biggest file size in a selected directory

^^ no it cant import file lists. That's was one main reason for creating this, no longer needed to take the time & hassle of creating lists, it does it automatically for you. All you need to do is create your images, for the installer.

Just place everything from the output direct near the complied exe, these files: mydata1.arc, mydata2.arc and records.ini. then everything is taken care of.

when you run setup, it will automatically extract the files.

Also I realized the program reads a file called session.ini which is created by the program, and it doesn't care if you change folders, parameters or anything if the file is there it will be read and will lead to the same error even it you change folder prefixes or anything else, they will be overriden and show up the same error.

Now deleting the file will let you use the program work again. Besides all that, the problem still persists, once done all the mentioned above.

So if you could please check that will be appreciated and ofcourse check that thing about session.ini

it's a total loop of chained errors

EDIT: Found the cause of the error. tries to move from and to the same folder. My FirstVolumeContent was set to what was supposed to be the final folder for disk files so the program tries to move the files from and to the same folder. I guess there should be a message warning when selecting folders or a check to do when the FirstVolumeContent and Disk 1 folders are the same moving should be ignored.

session.ini problem is still there, deleting it is just a quick workaround

This is elementary. The setup doesn't work, because it can't find precomp.exe, that you use in your installer.Which is likely to lie in a include or is_files folders.
I think, you should add this file or if it is damaged , download a new.

I doubt that I understand you correctly but if you want just the icon , then you take any image and remake it into a format ico.
And if you want it to change the icon in the setup you must prescribe this line in your installer:
SetupIconFile=Img\setup.ico

Just wanted to let you know that 2.2.1 version seems that still skips files... ws testing some of the conversions i made with this 2.2.1 and got the file vcredist_x86.exe during evolve conversion install.

As you may notice unlike the previous report i did about skipping files, this one has NO STRANGE CHARACTER at all

precomp042 has failed and that's it, I don't think there is anything to do either than changing precomp version which is what you did.
I added all versions of precomp so that people can change them when one or two fail.

Found a bug on 2.2.3...
Now if you set disk_1 folder as first volume content it will start the compression and actually finish it. but at the end, when used to have an error moving, now there is no bug, but delete all the contents on that folder so you have a full backup with all the disks folders (6 in my case, but disk 1 folder is totally empty)

Compression is not enough, installer creator 2.8 had better results with lzma64+delta, but it won't decompress archives. Maybe because UltraARC uses not enough memory? Only 160mb to compress!

Ultraarc uses the scripts from post #2 ( CIU versions )
Posts 4-7 (scripts that Razor12911 has modded to use UltraARC. )

ultraARC spilts the files automatically, you don't split them manually. The scripts from posts 2-7, will read the file info from records.ini, which should NEVER be edited manually
the program does it all automatically.

pakrat2k2, try the game again that made ultraarc/freearc freeze. i did a research today on a set of files that were 96 966. the total size was 21.1gb. it froze on my pc but after 4 hours it started.

as long as you use the version from post #2 > ci_ciu_04032015.7z
as that has been modified to use UltraARC. Same goes for the rest of the modified versions in THIS topic only.

Just set first disk contents folder the same path of converted game disk 1 and will do that. I reported this before and previously it did throw and error and didn't let you finish, but since "that fix" it deletes everything on disk 1 folder instead throwing an error

anything that says c:\program files (x86) ..... needs to be changed to {app}
otherwise end user will have wrong reg entry. ( They may NOT have installed in that directory)

And you need to add all the languages supported by the game, not just one.

you have something set wrong, nothing wrong with UA2400-170315, have used it for many conversions.

i have noticed one thing if you are using windows 8 and u have files installed to the program files folder UAC and the permissions for windows 8 is crap even when u turn all permissions off.so just incase have all games installed outside the programs files folder eg: c:\games\whatevergames\ i had problem compiling and compressing games that was in program files in windows 8.windows 7 works perfect. i have tested this in vmware a few times and it to do with windows 8 and hows its permissions are set.i just gave up trying to fix that problem.

I will send it in a few hours, I was offline for the past 2 or 3 days (sorting out university stuff), and I first have to implement and fix what you testers have found. But I quite astonished with UltraARC and the features it has, yet I don't even use it lol.

i do agree Ultra Arc is Ultra Awesome.the old way was so time consuming sometimes i would just wanna bash my screen in cause u wait so long for conversion to be done and then u a few megs over and it dont on 1 dvd so annoying and you begin testing again.and not to mention if it was a ubisoft games the testing on reg files omg.never again...Awesome work on this software.

Like lets say for 30gb game to split to 1BR +2xDVD5... or some other similar combinations BR+DVD9/ BR+DVD5 / DVD9+DVD5 where first disc or two locks to bigger medium and rest splits to smaller ones
