[ DLG_KOMPRESSOR v1.0 ]

1) Division of the game's folder in more parts, with the choice of the size for the single part split.


2) Saving files in different formats: .*Arc, .*Bin, .*Cab.


3) Four methods of compression: "ULTRA","BEST","NORMAL","STANDARD".


These four methods have been personally tested and as result we have obtained the best comparisons: (Quality Compression-//- Speed Compression)


4) The compression made automatically in (Single-Thread), until 8 individual processes for each folder divided.




5) The compression made automatically in (Multi-Thread), until 8 multiple processes in parallel for each folder divided. With further saving of overall time compared to the single process in (Single-Thread).


(Calculating the partial time for each file and the total for all file)




(Possible choice for what concern the amount of installed RAM for a greater speed of compression in parallel: 4Gb, - 6gb, - 8Gb, - 12Gb, - 16Gb)

sorry, the progam size of only 20mb,I thought it appropriate to include in the setup the .net framework 4.5, as indispensable to run it, which is 60mb .....:p:p

most people running w7x86 / w7x64 or even w8.1 would already have this on their systems. Not necessary to include it, just note that its a must for the program to run properly, maybe include link to it directly, within the notes for the program... ;)

Joking aside, I did not think that he could not serve.
However soon will post a Day One Patch 10 mb "only progam" that fix some bugs.;)

I SPLITE in 2 parts and select the compression level, I've correctly entered the SPLITE file ca said finished in a few seconds and I have not bin files, why?

OK there is no problem in the program.;)
The problem you it was found only when using "DirectorySlicer" dividing the root folder of the game the name of the folder and subfolders contain spaces.:)
So make sure that the folders are created by DirectorySlicer (PineDrive_1, PineDrive_2, etc) and not (Pine Drive 1, Pine Drive 2, etc).:D

You need to fix that, so it accepts folder names WITH SPACES. So that no need to rename a bunch of folders to use the program.

Thank you for the idea in place the problem of space but I already solved soon will post an update..;)

In regarding of the option -mx (Mode of the maximal compression) I tested the method on a folder on the size of 1.350mb
with this method :
a -s; -ep1 -di -i2 -r -ed -w -mx -msrep+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d192m:fb273:mc10000:lc8 is compressed to (652.280Mb) and completed in 6min_33sec.:)
OR
a -s; -ep1 -di -i2 -r -ed -w -msrep+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d192m:fb273:mc10000:lc8 is compressed to (652.280Mb) and completed in 6min_35sec.:)

All timed it:D

So I am of the opinion that better add that be taken off when the result is the same.

The four methods used by me included (4X4) or (a -s; -ep1 -di -i2 -r -ed -w -mx -msrep+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d192m:fb273:mc10000:lc8)
are all tested obviously with the support "ISDone.dll" :p

Can anyone advise me how to use my files to work this compression ? LZMA compression to unpack okay but ending nzip do not. I tried everything and hopefully I can figure it out thanks for the advice

I really liked the multithreading options it speed up the compression to halftime compared to anothers compressors, but i cannot keep it to work, when the program finishes compression there is no bin files anywhere it just vanish.

I'm using v1.2 already.

Try changing method...!!!!
Pay attention to the method "precomp" (ULTRA) IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH some files to be compressed..
For example, I happened with the game "Pineview Drive" and I had to use the method "srep" (BEST)

One thing is making me crazy is that your software is writing all compression to my C: while source is in F: and i choose to save compression to F: but your software write all compression to C:\users\appdata\local\temp and in end send to folder destination.

Another big problem i'm stucked is the games dont install or run with your compressor, till now tried best 4b and best 6gb and with 6gb compression game get error during installation, with 4gb game install but when try open it to play windows give error during starting and need to close application. The same game installs and play without problems using Conversion Quick Archive Unpacker.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what the problem is:rolleyes:

My game source is in F:/folderX then i choose DLG kompressor to output the compressed files in F:/folderY but while your software compressing it writes all content to C:~/appdata/temp first then when finish the compression send it to the output destination in F:/folderY. I have SSD which i avoid to write so much, i dont know why the compressor writes all things to c:/temp folder instead of keep it in the output destination only.

I'm noob to this compression thing, just started testing because have lot of games here which i will like decrease size to keep storing. I dont get what your meaning there. I compress the game then make my installer, after that i just put installer with the compressed .bin to test installation and see if it works, where should i put theses precomp.exe and srep.exe files to decompress data?

@Chum the program works in this way, intelligently, "Temp" files created in "C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Temp" to close or restart the program "DLGKompressor" automatically deletes files in the temp folder so as not to occupy unnecessary space in C:\.
logically can not I edit the source code of the program, for a single person who has an SSD full ready or limited capacity.:o;)

The files precomp.exe, srep.exe, packjpg_dll.dll, etc...should be entered in the folder decompression used to create the installation with Inno Setup "Script"

I'm learning yet, i trying to find out what i made wrong. The first game which dont worked in first place i already solved with sending precomp.exe + srep.exe to blackbox folder. Now i'm stucked at another one.

But have another question i dont understand in your program, what difference of 4gb,6gb,8gb,12gb,16gb? If i use 4gb method or 8gb method the total system ram used keep only 3gb~, this options is supposed to use more ram during compression?

please explain on what principle should be sorted source data for packaging in a separate .bin files for maximum compression

I created this program, to prevent data.lst 1,2,3 etc.,the program has multifunctions....the concept is :
1) select the folder of the game...
2) split the folder to the desired size (Directory Slicer)
OR
3) divide the game folder, in multiple folders desired (Folder Splitter)
4) compress individual folders divided, with the methods (Single-Thread) or (Multi-Thread).
Finally add the files Setup1.bin , Setup2.bin etc in the method of installation (Inno Setup).

P.S: Soon new option, the ability to search unnecessary language of a game,
with ability to delete individual languages, all languages, or create backup folder before deleting language definitively, to test the game with the missing languages......:D

Hint about srep and rep: The rep part means repetition (reduction of repetition) Rep is old and has a son who is intelligent known as Srep(Super-Rep). [This shows why people say our children are our future] Rep will soon retire and Srep must take over.[In other words, use srep instead of rep to avoid the old guys mistakes(errors)]

making it universal is actually hard as the creator of the program but as a user of the program it is very easy and the users make things seem to be very difficult wereas they are not, for instance: they don't take easy steps of fixing the problems themselves because mostly what causes freearc errors is the incompatibility of arc.exe and unarc.dll, they must both come from the same version or build of freearc so as a user, just download the latest freearc, use the arc.exe from it for compression and use the unarc.dll from it for decompression, they must always come from the same package. you can even see, in quick packer, there is the isdpne support folder, those files aren't there for decorations, those files are the ones that are compatible with the compressor itself but still a user never reads instructions and take the files for granted.

Exactly, but since novice users take for granted that any program or software, functions in a simple and safe, we must try to make our software more universal as possible, for the different needs of each user.:)

Nobody has ever read the manual instructions, but unfortunately this is a mistake that exists in human nature.:D

Hello I'm trying to use this app but when I try to split the root folder size to 2.5GB it doesn't separate the folders for whatever reason, it just makes a duplicate copy of the root folder. Attempted to do this on v1.2 and v1.3 but got the same result. What am I doing wrong?

Yes it does contain files smaller than 2.5GB. Since I am a beginner at this I am attempting a trial run at creating a repack for Resident Evil 4. Here is a screenshot of the directory:

Thanks to the screenshot I figured out that it was b/c when you set it to GB instead of MB it wont split the folder but instead make a "whole" duplicate copy of it. I guess for future reference you might want to remove GB as an option since it's useless.

Idk what happened. I have enough ram (16GB) and a i7-4770K (4 cores, 8 threads) and used the compression method ULTRA (Average Speed > Req.Min_6GbRam). See below

That's exactly what I did at first, but I noticed that the path was too long so the app cuts off the destination folder "Resident Evil 4_1", etc.
I moved the split folders to the desktop and I'll try that out to see if that works

On the desktop should work surely...then move the entire folder with subfolders divided, load folders split into Kompressor, and let me know if it works..;)

One problem: After doing what I said, and completing the compression process, Setup2.bin didnt process. I only see Setup1 and 2 bin files.

Feel me everything works perfectly, I do not understand your problems..:confused:

You can have problems of access denied to the Documents folder, or some files inside the folder of the game are not compressed by the method "precomp".
Try changing the precomp, using 0.43 if you are using 0.42.
if it does not work, use the method "SREP" without the "precomp"
Finally, I suggest you leave the My Documents folder, and work only on the desktop, input and output.

Let me know if you manage...ciauz.

Edit: Unfortunately I do not have the same game installed to give it a try:o

Ok, I'll attempt to do it again. Before I try again, here's a part of the transcript from the compression process that shows an error that was received. Everything else checked out as "Errorlevel=0"... Do you think that had something to do with Setup2.bin being missing?

So what ur saying is that I should just by pass the precomp method altogether and set it aside for srep+lzma instead? If so then what compression method out there similar to urs has proving to work successfully that includes precomp? S/N: By the way I am compressing the files as we speak so it should take a little less than an hr

To every problem there is a solution, as you have noticed the various methods (PRECOMP) they change the compression for each different type of files, there is no right way, we must try and pick the right one.;)

It appears the directory slicer creates duplicate files at times, and the duplicate file remover removes files that aren't really duplicate but probably has the same CRC or whatever it maybe. Could you look into this?

10 minutes and I build program to remove files, with creating a backup folder the files removed..;)

Very nice! One last feature request, if I may? Make the backup of the duplicate files with their original location/sub directories if possible? This will save a ton of work too.

But this is laziness, simply in case of restoration of files, searching in the parent directory the name of the folder in the backup by replacing everything as it was before..;)

The question refers in this section http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=96298...Dlg Kompressor does not use the option Multimedia compression..:)
The -mm option natively included in the first version of FreeArc 040 using the method TrueAudio, adding filter GRZIP and MM at the command line.
I have not used for a long time, but if I remember correctly is addressed for better compression on audio files, less on video.:rolleyes:

You might try to make a comparison between..with the same files.

Yes i was trying to make the comparison but its futile since as you said trueaudio and mm + grzip only compress audio.
msc handles many more formats :P

Noooo!!! Pulcione86 is a project that I abandoned long ago, it was one of my first compressors, I do not want to modify the source code to add the nanozip.
You can use very well "Split Kompress_v1.4c" makes quite a good job, and the son of DLG_Kompressor.
Split Kompress, the NanoZip find it in Advanced Mode and in a two methods pre-configured in Simple Mode.

Puoi usare benissimo "Split_Kompress_v1.4c" http://www.fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=444287&postcount=1 fa abbastanza bene il suo lavoro, ed il figlio del DLG_Kompressor.
In Split Kompress, il NanoZip lo trovi in Advanced Mode e in un due metodi pre-configurati in Simple Mode.
