ps2 acying erratic,help please

ok,i have a neo 2.2 and ar disc.my problem is that when i put in ar disc 1 it loads up the browser and then says please insert playstation format disc.this has been happening more and more regularly until now i cannot boot up the ar disc at all.also i have to use disc 2 (ar) to play any psx backups.original ps2 discs still work but it will also load the browser first before booting the game.
i read somewhere(sgt dan i think) that if the ps2 starts acting strange that you can "reset" the ar2.the site is down at the moment so does anyone know how to do this or anything else that will help if this is not the problem.it was listed with the different boot methods with ar2.

HMM IS AR1 DISC IN GOOD CONDITION
if not use disc protecter on disk 2 before u ruin that one too
not alot help but u never know

yes,my disc is in very good condition.it stops spinning before it comes out so i have never had a problem with the disc getting scratched.i also found how to reset it but as it won't load,thats no help at all.any other ideas
