Far Cry 3
(1x DVD9 to 1x DVD5) *INNO+Precomp+Srep+FreeArc(LZMA)*

1) Install the game and then update to v1.04

2) Remove the following foreign languages\editor files from game's installation folder:

FC3Editor.Core.dll
FC3Editor.exe
FC3Editor.exe.config
ige.dat
ige.fat
igepatch.dat
igepatch.fat
fc3_main_foreignLanguage.dat
fc3_main_foreignLanguage.fat
fc3_main_vistas.dat
fc3_main_vistas.fat
multicommon_foreignLanguage.dat
multicommon_foreignLanguage.fat
multicommon_vistas.dat
multicommon_vistas.fat

3) Extract 'FC3_1xDVD5.7z' contents (not in game folder)

4) Launch Compress.bat & wait...

5) Copy from DVD9 to 'FC3_1xDVD5\FC3' folder :

'Support' folder (except dotNetFramework folder)

6) Burn or make iso with label name of your choice

Btw [ this ques is not related to this conversion as it is flawless] any chance of telling me a way to compress 10GB darksiders to 3-4.20 GB.......keeping in mind that i have designed setup structure with yenner's ciu......

just tell me the code of compress.bat file for external compression......

hi peter quick question the multicommon_vistas.dat

is this not required for the game to work or do we just delete these just the the languages u dont need

No problem, you can delete editor files:
ige*.*
*vistas*.*

just tell me the code of compress.bat file for external compression......

:confused: The external compression (filter mode) use arc.exe,srep,precomp,arc.ini.

The command lines are listed in compress.bat file.

well the ques. wasn't related with far cry 3,its with darksiders...

btw done the compression of darksiders by external method,but no result...
it seems its really impossible to fit it into 1xdvd5,all my hope just got shattered....:(

but this one is perfect[far cry 3]:D

Hi Peter! Thanks for this great (and unexpected) conversion!

One tiny question, do you know which files should I keep in order to play with english voices + spanish texts/subs? I tried multi2 conversion but it doesní fit for a few mb (cutting off entire support folder). I am playing it like that atm, executing the game with spanish command line and selecting "english voices" from the in game options menu.

Hello Peter thank you very much for this FC3 installer, AWESOME.
I'm a total newbie. I just wanted to ask a few quick questions; here goes.

Firstly: The 15 files you said to remove from the directory will not cause any problems to play the game, will it?

Secondly: I want the game to play English and subtitled (Closed Captioned) in English.
Removing those mentioned files will not cause me to lose my native English language?

Thirdly: Can I use the files posted to compress any other games?

Now I know the compress.bat file will need to be edited and also the autorun.inf file.

Also the FC3 sub folder where the Autorun.exe, autorun.ini and the Setup.exe needs to be changed.

Last but not least: How do I make an Autorun.exe and a Setup.exe?

Hi Peter I did everything as you said...Downloaded your files and started the compress.bat file. Everything compressed perfectly...Then I made an ISO image and mounted it on my virtual drive to install FC3.

Just about a minute or so into the installation I got this two error (look at pictures below) so I clicked OK and OK...continued to install everything went fine after that, then finished installation.

Then I started the game everything works perfectly.

My only problem is the two errors I picked up in the early stage of the installation. Can you help me to fix it?

P.S. Forgot to say that just as I started to install it asked me to install xvideo decoder!!! Why?

error message maybe because you missed step #5..

5) Copy from DVD9 to 'FC3_1xDVD5\FC3' folder :

check your ISO & make sure the Support folder is there!

If you mean of using precomp.exe,srep.exe,arc.exe, the answer is yes.

Thank you Peter for the helpful answers.

I do have a small amount of knowledge using Inno Setup via ISTool or Inno Script Studio.

But as far as "Pascal (programming language)" thats out of my league.

However, if you know much about ISTool or Inno Script Studio GUI can you just tell me how to...There is a tab called Disk Spanning on the Setup Option and I'd like to know what I can add or do on that tab to make separate Bin files just like what you scripted in your compress.bat file?

start up INNO ( ansi / unicode ) version on its own, then click on help the documentation for diskspanning is there.

Great Job, Peter! Works perfectly!

My preferred language is pt-br and the game is in english. Problem solved: I added "-language portuguese" after the "path_instalation\farcry3.exe" in properties of shortcut. All menus, subs and tips are in pt-br and the voice is in english!

just that, some error happened. re-run the compress.bat if you didnt retry to create the second bin file. Just make sure nothing else is running in background.

follow the instructions properly.

if you edit compress.bat & you'll see that there is supposed to be only 1 file. there is no data2.lst file.

you missed a step somewhere.

No does not fit dvd5 as stated as register 4,76gb on disc so waste time doing this anyway.

Data 1.bin reads 940,910 kb (918mb)
Data 2.bin reads 3,987,615 kb (3.80gb

And that is with and without the redist folder as well !!!!!!

and reads 400mb overload of files just the same as the copy i have is 4.76gb as well !!
