X-COM: Enemy Unknown

Script: yener90 / Graphic Arts: REVOLUTION

*Setup supports these languages: English, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, French, Russian, Polish, Portuguese

And no, there won't be 1DVD5 !

History

V1.00 - First Release.

Install the game.

1. Go to game's installed folder and move:

AMD Dual Core Optimizer, VCRedist, Directx folders to Redist folder in DVD2. (Which is in conversion)

2. Go to:

..\XCOM Enemy Unknown\XComGame\Movies

And delete/move every file which starts with '1080_' There should be 104 files total.

3. Download the attachment below. Open installerscript.iss with Unicode version of INNO and change the following line according to your game's installed location:

#define ProgramFiles "E:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\XCOM Enemy Unkown"

Save it and compile.

4. After compile, move:

-Setup.cab, Setup.exe, Setup.ini, Autorun.exe, Setup.ico to DVD1 folder;

-All Setup-1*.bin files to DVD1
-All Setup-2*.bin files to DVD2

5. Burn content to DVDs, and enjoy installer music pack during install.

DVD1: 4.31GB
DVD2: 2.20GB (Without Redist)

NOTE: I strongly recommend to play the game; after deleted 1080p videos, to see if it's OK or not. (It was fine on my test)

Thanks works fine , no problem for playing videos's game (W7 32bits) :)

for more compression , open installerscript.iss and use LZMA2/ultra64 instead LZMA
DVD1: 4.31GB
DVD2: 1.64GB (With Redist)

Could be.. But it wont make it 1 DVD5, and you'll spend more time to make conversion.

Hm. I do not own the game, but a few tips.

A game this big surely has a lot of sound effects and voices. Maybe you could try resampling these? Also, I do not know how many languages are in the game folder. Perhaps removing all but one would make a difference?

3.90 GB is texture-sound files, other 3.00GB is 720p movies. 720p movies can be resampled, however i dont think it'll worth the effort

The conversion works great on Windows 7 64-bit with No-CD preapplied. Tested on Polish version.

Correct the install directory

"E:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\XCOM Enemy Unkown" to your game installation path and compile

(") MUST be there!

I'm thinking if you rename all the 1080p biks to match the names of the 720p biks and replacing them. Conversion should be around 1.2GB bigger and you'll have better quality biks. Mind you this is all speculation as i dont have the game myself so i cant test it. Will still be 2 dvds but the videos should look better.

Let me know if this will work.

All doing again and saying 38 hours as it stopped as Defined read error on game files. Done PAKRAT ISS script system and did the game in 1 hour and all working fine with installed game working 110% perfect...

Did both versions ISS script and both came out same besides one installs as Xcom Enemy within as Xcom Enemy Unknown and both work exactly same timings...
