Rage - 3xDVD9 to 3xDVD5 (without multiplayer) or 5xDVD5 (included Multiplayer) *Updated*
Music: Rage The Well soundtrack
Note: Remove your original uninstall files before you make the conversion.
You need at least ~ 22GB of free space.
v1.0: First release (184 downloads).
V1.1: Updated to CI 8.3.5.1_BETA by yener90;
Added video during installation;
Added transparence to the buttons of the installer;
Added a cursor similar to the game.
Added RoundedCorner to the autorun.
3xDVD5:
1. Install the game by the language of your choice. Install all updates.
2. Download attachment and extract in your HD.
3. From your game installation folder, move or delete the mp folder;
4. Open InstallerScript.iss with Inno Setup (Unicode Version is recommended) and change the first line according
to your game installation path:
#define ProgramFiles "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Rage"
7. Save and press compile. Compile process will take 90 min, depend of your system.
8. Copy from your game installation folder the following folders to Rage_3\Redist or Rage_5\Redist, if you included multiplayer:
directx folder
msvc2010 folder
9. Move to:
Rage_1: Setup-1a.bin, 1b, 1c; Setup.cab; Setup.dll; Setup.exe; Setup.ico; Setup.ini
Rage_2: Setup-2a.bin, 2b, 2c
Rage_3: Setup-3a.bin, 3b, 3c
if you included multiplayer:
Rage_4: Setup-4a.bin, 4b, 4c
Rage_5: Setup-5a.bin
10. Make ISO's with the same folder names and test before you burn.
Final Sizes:

DVD1: 4,37GB
DVD2: 4,34GB
DVD3: 3,90GB
5xDVD5:
DVD1: 4,37GB
DVD2: 4,34GB
DVD3: 4,34GB
DVD4: 4,34GB
DVD5: 1,14 GB

much nicer installer then mine, but might want to add that this is for FULL game including multiplayer. My conversion had both 3xdvd5 for single-player only + 5xdvd5 including multiplayer. >> http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=92037

I removed MP (multiplayer),eng only 3xDVD5 works

Yep, i will make a new conversion soon. ;)
unfortunately I have no more Multiplayer folder. :(
Anyway, a found too many renders of Rage to make a conversion with CIU. I'll think of something...

i will make a new conversion, but you can make with this if you wish. Just do not know what the final size. ;)
Please fabio if you do a new conversion, leaving all the conversion files, I mean the InstallerScript and others.

Compiling script right now with added DLC with / without Multiplayer will post results for 3dvd5(SP) & 5xdvd5(MP) sizes. Will see IF they change at all, doubtful but will post results anyways.
i will make a new conversion, but you can make with this if you wish. Just do not know what the final size. ;)
The total size is around 18GB, with DLC and Update 1.3

my install with multiplayer is 23gig i also removed languages from the dlc folder only kept english.

I try with srep now to see the sizes and working on the new conversion with CIU.

ok things changed a little
SINGLE PLAYER + DLC
DVD1-4.36GB
DVD2-4.34GB
DVD3-4.34GB
*DVD4-1.19GB+Redist*
Now will redo conversion for MP & post results, thinking will probably goto 6xdvd5,
as SP went to 4xdvd5 instead of 3xdvd5.

I tested now with freearc+srep+lzma for SP + DLC, compress all files and folders except virtualtextures: Data1.cab - 4.48GB, it's possible reduce if delete other languages in base folder. Redist folder included in the game files {app}.
Data2.cab: virtualtextures, checking now... Is big: 11,4 GB (12.251.047.962 bytes). I will divide in more Data.cab's to see the sizes... :D
Note: I have these languages in base folder:
english.streamed
japanese.streamed
polish.streamed
russian.streamed

yes u can delete what ever other languages in base and dlc folders works perfect i test english only.deleting those in base folder i think saves u a extra 1gb -+
ya i try this conversion with all updates without mp its will be 4 dvd
dvd1=4.33
dvd2=4.34
dvd3=4.33
dvd4=1.11 g
so my question your old not inno setup conversion of hitman absolution 23.5g you make it in 3 dvd can the method you use in hitman works with rage+mp in 3 dvd ?

nope same 4... but there are more in both BASE / MP/BASE that can be removed for English only install. IF you added Language Pack.
@damar15 IF you install language pack, you end up with czech, english, french, german, italian, spanish, polish, russian, japanese languages > 2.13GB in BASE folder
in MP/Base folder same languages but only ~500MB

original topic is 3xdvd5-SP or 5xdvd5-MP... its now with new dlc 4dvd-SP or 5dvd-MP unless new compression method is used.

I tested with srep, not possible to fit in 3xDVD5 even with one language. virtualtextures files reduces the size very little.
Anyway, i will organize the files and test again.

"setup.exe is not a valid Win32 apllication"
can it be fix ? coz time for compile 3h..

Here works normally. I have recorded with this conversion. Try compile again or use the new conversion.

Works well on win 7 ultimate x64.
I used external compression and got a total size of 13,5GB (Still 4xdvd for full SP game with all updates and scorcher dlc)
A small issue is that the video that plays, just goes on a loop and doesn't switch to music when video is done. Also no % of progress shows while installing and no directory text progress. But these are just graphical issues that has nothing to do with how great this conversion actually is. Thanks a million Fabio.
