Multi 5 version (EN/CZ/IT/PL/RU) works fine too, but after installation when I click on finish, got wrong volume inserted error (insert Disc1). I replaced my autorun.dat with yours from autorun2.rar and repeat every step several times with no result. Never mind, conversion and game works anyway. Thanks again.

i used this conversion and it's working, i dont understand how the hell so much people getting error. Anyway for multi5 (eng, ger,tr, etc. one) i'm giving my autorun.dat for wrong volume and other stuff.

pakrat2k2
27-03-2011, 14:13
the problem is there is 3 different multi5 versions. Unless you check which one you have, using the wrong version will result in errors. Even with the correct version, i tested the Multi5: (EN/DE/FR/ES/TR) Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2 ( autorun3.rar ) It errors at the end, with wrong volume inserted on XPSP3. Probably just missing a folder/file, thats on Disc1, it needs to finish the install process. Havent tested on Win7X64 yet.

pakrat2k2
27-03-2011, 15:23
is there any way to delete languages from multi9 version to make it a 2 dvd5? i only need spanish and english
although , when i install the game it doesnt ask me to choose language it automatically sets in on spanish. is there any way to change that?

Nope it chooses language based on Installed OS language.

pakrat, can you try with the autorun.dat i gave?

maybe problem is autorun.dat, as you say there are 3 conversions and it is possible to mix all up

Thanks

Also, someone should try in w7 os

Rev0, tried with your autorun.dat, Still same error as attached picture shows, at end of conversion. Tested on XP. I think it's looking for the autorun.exe, which isnt included on Disc2.

Will test on W7X64

EDIT

Same error as above, there is a file / folder missing on Disc2 that is on Disc1 that its looking for. I copied over autorun.exe, so its NOT that file?!( XPSP3 )

REVO i tried you autorun.dat no luck i still got that wrong volume error, so what i did.

i created disc2 with all the crysis2 files edited the autorun.inf as per instructions and created the image, loaded disc1 into daemon tools started to install it asked for disc2
install continued as per normal until the wrong volume error, somewhere in the autorun.dat
tells it to ask for disc1, how do you view these dat file?

I am so stupid....I find my mistake.I labeled discs disk1/disk2 with K instead of disc1.Thats why setup cannot find second dvd.WIth "C" there is no problem.

About 1.2gb can be saved from disc2 by replasing unnesesary language .pak with empty ones and put them again in localized foldes.Of course one must remain original and game mstu be installed with it(in my case game is english only now).

Thx for the conversion post, i'll definitely be trying it out for the Ltd. Edition. I've got a tiny question though. Do the disc labels have to be "Disc1", "Disc2" and "Disc3", or can i have my own but with sequential names such as "Crysis 2 Ltd. Ed. D1", "Crysis 3 Ltd. Ed. D2" and "... D3" ?

I assume that the autorun1,2 and 3 are the respective autoruns for disc 1, 2 and 3. However you say extract and overwrite multi9 autorun.dat to disc one. Wich one do i need to have on the first disc then. The file from autorun1.rar or the one from Multi9 autorun.dat.rar ?

Your getting thins mixed up a bit.. You ONLY d/l the autorun.dat archive for the version you have. It goes on disc1 and replaces the original one, you dont need any for the next disks.

Your DVD labels inside the iso MUST be what the conversion says they need to be. BUT you can save the ISO itself with whatever you want.

pakrat2k2
31-03-2011, 09:04
@pakrat: i got the limited edition. Thats why i'm a bit confused. It has 3 autorun files at the bottom of the post (the last version of the original post) plus another multi9 autorun.dat.rar That's why i'm confused. About the labels, if i understand you correctly the labels that windows will see have to be Disc1, Disc2 and Disc3 ?

ok.. the conversions listed on page 1, each has the archive you need to d/l listed within the conversion. There are 4 conversions within the first post. The forum puts ALL the links from ALL the conversions at the bottom of the post. You have the LIMITED Edition, so ONLY grab Multi9 autorun.dat.rar archive, you need nothing else.

Yes your DVD labels must be Disc1, Disc2, Disc3. Any other questions or still confused reply back :)

To avoid the error on install sequence DVD1-DVD2 you need a custom EAsetup launcher:

i convert this but when im going to install its still saynd to insert disc 2
and 3 times i tried to make dvds
im getting :(
DVD1 => 4,38 gb
DVD2 => 3,28 gb

I had the same problem, Multi5: (EN/CZ/IT/PL/RU). But i labelled second .iso like Crysis2_Disc2, and exactly that was the problem. It must be labelled only Disc2. Now i have no problem, Windows 7 x64. And i reduced about 1.3Gb by deleting polish.pak, russian.pak, italian.pak and czech.pak from Disc2.

can also be 'fixed' by removing the launchprogram from property table, which is what i did with all mst files. Installed fine no errors.

But will be nice when your ready to post your conversion, too many people having issues with this one, be it they dont know what version they have or have dvd labels wrong.

Now it's working without any error, (Win7 x86). Anyone with errors, just carefully follow the instruction on the first page from senseman and everything must be working fine, (Works for me on MULTI 5 and Limited Edition). Thank you senseman and thanks peter for helping senseman to make this conversion perfect. BTW, I make your conversion for Limited Edition to 2 DVD5 (1 language only). Simply replace unneeded pak files from Localized folder with empty files (after that, Disc 3 folder size is about 600mb - Thanks mroussev for the tip), move contents from Disc3 to Disc 2 (Localized folder and root.cab), edit embedded mst (in my case en-us.mst), change Disc3 to Disc2 in Media table and thats it.

Dumbass question:

Does peter's custom msi launcher works for both Crysis2 and NFSU2 conversions???

Thanks in advance.

The launcher works for all EA games that use localization.ini, autorun.dat and the MSTs as specified under locales label.
You can use it for NSSU2, Dead space 2, so on...
8 are languages currently supported

im not trying to be a smart ass, i was infering that peter's launcher may have been for this topic only. He updated the pictures to show 3 different games. Originally it was crysis2 only images.

But he's straightened that out, that it will work for any/all EA games will have to keep it handy.

I have spent hours reading thru help forums for inno, just trying to figure out how peter's conversions work the way they do. Rather then just accept it and move onto the next game. The only way to learn, ask questions, & even if I answer, and again im proven wrong by someone who knows far more then i do about these conversions work.
Im still learning and hope that peter still continues to post, as they work flawlessly.

yes BEFORE making your ISO's goto the localized folder and make a fake file with the name it says it cant find. ( make a empty text file, then rename it to what you need it to be ) You may need to do that with more then 1 of the language paks, so dont burn the ISO's until you test the install/uninstall without errors

senseman

very simple

DVD1=> Disc1
DVD2 => Disc2

Do not use any other name ok

Few questions:
1. Can i put for example no intro fix on DVD2? May it cause some problems? Is it OK?
2. In autorun.inf there are these lines:

Name=Crysis 2

[Special]
Disc=1
ProductGuiID={6033673D-2530-4587-8AD0-EB059FC263F9}

Can I leave it or have i delete it in autorun.inf on DVD2?

3. Is it right, that a have to replace "EASetup.exe" on DVD1 with the one from this post to work correctly? http://www.fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=393320&postcount=92

The file 'Thumbs.db' is a hidden file and I could only unhide it if I uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"..Same goes to the other language folders.

Anyway I also wonder why is it that when I use DVD9 to install the game the error never comes up even if 'Thumbs.db' file is still hidden.

Once again I solved my own problem!!

I was using ImgBurn to create disc images, and I figured out that ImgBurn doesn't include hidden files in creating images! So when I used UltraISO, the error doesn't come up anymore and I was able to have a clean install/uninstall and finally burned them to the dvd..thanks anyways pakrat for your help.hehe!

you dont use that file to install, you need to replace the original file with the Custom EA file that peter posted. ( copy contents of dvd9 to temp folder then replace the file peter uploaded ) then follow the rest of the conversion process.

CRYSIS 2 Updated with patch 1.9 , DirectX 11 update and Hi-Res texture pack *ENG ONLY*

1-install the game and apply update 1.9, DirectX11 update and Hi-res texture pack

Step #3 & #9 are repeated.

Followed guide as best as can, but some initial issues with Disc2 size( 5.47GB )

Disc1 - Folders
Autorun - 215KB
bin32 ( with Eacore subfolder ) - 23 files - 108MB
Directx - 27.3MB
gamecrysis2 - _fastload subfolder - 14.8MB
- _LevelCache subfolder - 120MB
- Levels ( 22 subfolders ) - 251MB
- modes subfolder - 7.39MB
- FILES:
Animations.pak 81.2MB
Music.pak 427MB
Objects.pak 1.62GB
ObjectsLS.pak 640MB
Scripts.pak 1.26MB
Sounds.pak 529MB
Textures.pak 461MB
Gamedata.cab 30.9MB

Redistributable folder 31.6MB
Support folder ( 3 subfolders ) - 7 files - 26.2MB
ROOT Disc1 - 6 files - 55.7MB

DISC2 Folders

bin32 folder - 4 files - 10.8MB
gamecrysis2 folder - Levels subfolder (DowntownDX11_Benchmark) 7.18MB
- Localized subfolder 319MB ( was 1.5GB all languages + English French German Spanish Turkish pak files, DELETED ALL OTHER except Eng) - once deleted now 319MB and DVD is 4.2GB missed in step10
videos.pak file 1.66GB

Mods folder - empty
patch folder - 2.2GB
Support folder - 4.16KB

ROOT DISC2 - 4 files 1.25MB

Once fixed the files that were copied from step #10 that didnt need to be there BOTH DVD's now correct, will make ISO's & test installer tomorrow then report back

napalmguy
29-08-2011, 11:12
corrected Localized folder now in conversion. As for step 3 and 9 I had to repeat that for consistency so no one will forget and to sum all the steps of DVD2 together

PS:tested on fresh installation of Windows 7 x64 that didn't have Crysis 2 installed before

pakrat2k2
29-08-2011, 18:17
Corrections Needed:

7- in game install folder, folder gamecrysis2, rename the file "GameData.pak"
to "gamecrysis2GameData_pak" and then compress it to a cab archive named "GameData.cab" with compression MSZIP and move it to folder
CRYSIS_UPDATED\Disc1\gamecrysis2\

GameData.pak NEEDS to be in ROOT of Disc1, not in gamecrysis2 folder

10-copy from game install folder to CRYSIS_UPDATED\Disc2\gamecrysis2\Levels\
the folder "DowntownDX11_Benchmark"
and copy folder "Localized" after deleting all languages other than English from it >>>

You need the other language pak files there but make an empty txt file & rename it to the language pak your replacing. ( Setup expects those files there even if empty )

Installed perfectly with the corrections ive mentioned above to the conversion on page 4

Good job bud ;)

corrections done, thanks pakrat. but i doubt that this will work for any language other than English because I modified only one transform and the msi detects teh system locale and tries to apply corresponding transform so i don't think this is for windows systems other than English. but we will wait and see. thanks for the corrections again :D

if you're only wanting to keep one language, using the first conversion on page 1 will work. Rip out the .pak files for unneeded langs, and then add the 3 big patches/crack to dvd2

http://i56.tinypic.com/js0ldj.jpg

EDIT: I also removed the gdfbinary dll's for unneeded langs (these files are registrations for windows games explorer)

first off you need to specify which conversion your following, there are multiple listed on page 1. Also list what step your not clear on & will see if we can make it clearer to you. Thats probably why your archive is bigger.

Hi there, apologies for that, it's

CRYSIS 2 DVD9 to 2xDVD5

Multi5: (EN/CZ/IT/PL/RU) Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

All this is new to me as of today. Are these conversions from the original dvd9 cd or can they be made from downloaded copies?

pakrat2k2
16-10-2011, 09:19
we dont discuss warez here, if you mean digital download, doesnt matter as long as the version you have matches the game conversion. either from retail dvd9 or digital dvd9 the conversion will work.

Well, turns out my little conversion via removing the lang .pak's and adding the hi-res texture pack doesn't really work for space reasons. So what I'm trying to do is move Objects.pak, ObjectsLS.pak, and Animations.pak (inside the gamecrysis2 folder) over to dvd2, and then put the updates/hires textures/cracks/etc on DVD1.

Editing autorun.dat has been a nightmare though, I've never had so much headache getting 3 files moved over to install as part of the second disc, keeping the install sequence as dvd1-dvd2. Senseman, if you're still reading this topic, would you mind giving me a quick tutorial, since you are the crysis 2 .dat master?

why not use napalmguy's conversion for just that? works perfectly with the hi-res texture pack & DX11 update & patch 1.9.. link here:

@PakRat

I would, except for two things:

1. I would like to keep everything in it's pre-installed state to avoid any possible errors in the future w/ adding new mods/patches/etc
2. I would like to know exactly what to do w/ the autorun.dat file in order to be able to do this myself in the future & even help others on the forum w/ similar issues.

I've gotten a start on looking at Senseman's autorun.dat and thought I figured out what he was doing, but whenever I try to imitate it on those selected three files I return the 'error applying transforms' msg :(

So I must be doing something wrong, and I would most appreciate it if Senseman could point me right. Thanks!

Can you make "EASetup.exe" and "autorun.dat" for polish language version?
When I change in file "localization.ini":

[LOCALES]
en-us=1

to

[LOCALES]
en-us=1
pl=1

then it does not work at all installation.
"GDFBinary.pl.dll" filen won't install too...

Unfortunately napalmguy's conversion is for english only! you'll have to follow the conversion listed on page 1 for the version you have. IF there is a link within the posting
like:

http://www.fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=393320&postcount=92

then there is a Custom EASetup Launcher by peterf1999, to go with that conversion.

kaem84
03-11-2011, 22:53
The conversion on the first page does not work with an integrated 1.9 and HiResTexture update pack like napalmguy's conversion.
I need "autorun.dat" file support Polish language files like GDFBinary.pl.dll.

pakrat2k2
04-11-2011, 17:13
it wont auto install those.. but you CAN remove the un-needed pak files for lang you dont want ( gamecrysis2\localised folder ) the folder itself IF LE edition is 3.57GB with all languages.. just make a zero-byte file with the same name as the deleted languages.

IE:
delete English.pak ( 319MB ) right-click new text document & rename it to English.pak file is now 0 bytes.

Delete czech.pak ( 327MB) right-click new text document & rename it to czech.pak

REMEMBER to name them exactly.. some have uppercase letters, some dont.

THEN ADD the patch 1.9 , DirectX 11 update and Hi-Res texture pack to DISK2.. more then enough room, but you will have to install them manually after installing base game.

Hi!
Can somebody help me about the conversion?
I edit the autorun.dat file but i dont know wich number in media section belongs to each file. It shows that 90 belongs to engine.cab, and it shows 562->gamedata.cab and 575->root.cab.
My question is wich number belongs to animations.pak, music.pak and objects.pak?

pakrat2k2
05-11-2011, 15:19
At least your trying to use orca & do it yourself, just use the already converted autorun.dat for your version as a guide. ( you'll see whats changed between your autrorun.dat & the edited one. Just as a precaution, rename your autorun.dat to mine.dat, it gets confusing when switching between to files named the same)

Finally i found my mistake. I dont dothe discprompt column. but if i do wat i want i must change discs almost 10 times.

Isn't there A) a command line interface and/or B) a batch processing function in Orca to automize MSI/MSP/MST manipulation en masse?

pakrat2k2
05-11-2011, 17:38
not that i know of. Im starting on an INNO script for crysis 2 that will allow any version of the game to be installed, updated with hi-res texture pack, updated to V1.9, for ANY language. This will cease the requests for fixed autorun.dat for (x) language.

IT WONT use original DVD9 files but installed games files, so will be for ANY supported language.

Well somehow senseman managed to move some files over to a dvd2 for his conversion in post 1, so there is a way to do it without going insane (one would think, at least)...

Maybe the transform>apply transform... function @ the top would do it. Of course, for this the english .mst file must be available.

pakrat2k2
07-11-2011, 17:00
as already stated napalmguy's conversion is for ENGLISH ONLY! The embedded mst for ENGLISH was used, but I'm NOT going to manually edit over a dozen mst files so that every language can use that conversion. I'll post an INNO script, that no matter what language you use, or what version of the game, you can do the 1.9 Update + DX11 + HighResTextures. Be Patient, these take time to work on.

I have converted the game. I've translated all words in Autorun.iss & in Crysis 2.iss (to Polish) too. I don't know why I have a "&1" before the name of application. I've installed the game (your conversion) and the game is slowed down the whole time (HD textures & DX11 options are off) while the original is going normal. Tested two times. Where lies the problem?

pakrat2k2
27-11-2011, 12:34
The game runs slow using the converted installation, but runs OK with original + HD textures & DX11 added ?

the %1 comes from {cm:LaunchProgram} under [ICONS] in the ISS script.

You shouldnt have to had to translate anything as Polish is already in both scripts ?

No. I don't use DX11 & the HD textures in the game. I was playing original with those off because I don't have DirectX 11 & a graphics card for the HD textures and didn't use them with the converted game too. I will use them in future (I'm planning to buy a better computer).

The Polish language really is in both scripts, but nothing is translated so I did that myself.

actually, I found that if you use the first conversion from the first post you can add all three updates (patch 1.9, hiRes texture patch, and the DX11 patch) and a nodvd crack onto the second dvd if you replace the foreign lang .paks & foreign lang EA Support files with dummies. The game will install as normal, and all content will fit on 2 dvd5's.

If you're interested, simply download the attachment. Extract it to your DVD2 folder you created during the conversion & overwrite all. Remember this is for EN-US only.

Then add the patches/cracks into the DVD2 folder. I have mine organized like this:

Crysis.2.v1.9-FLTDOX
\Crack
\Bin32
\Crysis2.exe
\Updates
\Crysis 2 DX11 Pack.exe
\Crysis 2 HighResolutionTexturePack.exe
\Crysis 2 Patch 1.9.exe
\fltdox.nfo

Kamyk95, re-read your post a couple posts up.

so no dx11 / hd textures or capable card of using them.

Installing from conversion will not slow the game down, in any way
its the same files, just using different installer.

check to make sure any background programs are turned off. see if that helps first.
