hello there,
i'm new here and i need some help i could'nt find anywhere else.
i played the GTA IV in my vista pc, and before format the pc and install windows 7 i saved only the folder savedgame, after install windows 7 and install of the game i could'nt find the new savedgame folder to replace it with my old one, even after i play a little and save the game after level or 2. there is any way i can restore my saved game due to my situation.
Thanks in advance.

Windows 7 more than likely deleted your old Documents folder when installing. But check under Users if you dont not do a clean install.

you did'nt understand me, windows 7 for sure deleted my old documents but i backed up the "savedgame" folder om my disk on key before install windows 7 and gta for second time.
after i've installed GTA on new windows 7, i coud'nt find a new "savedgame" folder to replace with my old one.

Start a new game, get a chance to save, quit, then copy and paste in to the folder thats made.

it's all about that, it doesn't create a new one and i really make a little progress and save in a slot or two.
it's so weird, maybe the progrees need's to be bigger i really don't know.

Where you logged into xlive either online or offline profile? If not then it wont save.

i play offline and i'm able to save and load, after i've found the new "savegame" folder and replace it with my old one, i tried to play and i've got the next message:
" load failed. please check your hard drive and try again."
what should i do now?

Ask Rockstar on how to transfer your saves to new installs?

When you google you'll find your answer, heard about it and know there's a solution, a friend of mine had that, too.
