Left 4 Dead (with dvd) cd key question

I recently purchased a used copy of LEFT 4 DEAD for the PC . I didn't even stop to think that it was on the steam network and that the cd key for the game would be registered to ANOTHER ACCCOUNT!
anyway, now i have this useless game because the cd key is registered to some other user and because i have no receipt steam won't reset the key.
I need some kind of keygen or something, i would be happy with a cd key that would only work on single player/offline, i really dont care i just want to be able to play it.
WHATCHA got?

2. I noticed you said you bought a used copy... talk to the guy who you bought from and tell him to dump the game from his steam account. Or tell him/her to get valve to transfer the cd-key to your own account.
