Ghostbusters The Video Game DVD9 to 2xDVD5
1) Create 2 folders: GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS_2
1st DVD - GHOSTBUSTERS (also label for DVD1)
2nd DVD - GHOSTBUSTERS_2 (also laber for DVD2
2) Copy all files from original DVD9 to GHOSTBUSTERS folder
3) From GHOSTBUSTER\setup folder edit with Orca
"Ghostbusters (TM) The Video Game.msi" to look like this:
(or you can download the msi file from here: 1025)
http://i44.tinypic.com/2vkcf0m.jpg
4) Create "setup" folder in GHOSTBUSTERS_2 folder
5) Cut "data1" and "data2" from GHOSTBUSTERS\setup folder to GHOSTBUSTERS_2\setup folder
6) copy AUTORUN.inf and ghost.ico files from GHOSTBUSTERS folder to GHOSTBUSTERS_2 folder
7) edit AUTORUN.inf to look like this:
[AutoRun]
Open=0
Icon=ghost.ico
Burn: DVD1 with GHOSTBUSTERS label
DVD2 with GHOSTBUSTERS_2 label
Install Sequence
DVD1-DVD2-DVD1
Works 100%
Installer on retail disk is mess (custom install doesn't work), it works otherwise so i think thats the reason why disks haven't recalled, unlike Terminator where installer didn't work at all.

GhostBusters The Video Game Proper (DVD9 to 2xDVD5)
Install sequence DVD1-DVD2-DVD1
1) Create temp folders
'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1'
'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_2'
2) Copy DVD9 content to 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1'
3) Move:
'data1.cab & data2.cab' files from 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1\Setup\' to 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_2\Setup\'
4) Remove (Delete):
'bin' folder from 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1\Setup\'
5) Copy:
'ghost.ico'
file from 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1\' to 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_2\'
6) Create autorun.inf in 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_2\':
[AutoRun]
Open=0
Icon=ghost.ico
7) Extract 'Ghostbusters (TM) The Video Game.7z (http://rapidshare.com/files/247333393/Ghostbusters__TM__The_Video_Game.7z)' contents to 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1\Setup\'
8) Burn or make isos with labels 'GHOSTBUSTERS_1' and 'GHOSTBUSTERS_2'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
To save time,i tested it under vista x32 & xp x32 with dummy cabs archives
Now bin files are in right place also after custom installation
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
for all users who have an issue about installation:
use Windows Installer Clean Up (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe) click the entry 'Ghostbusters (TM)' in the list,
and then click 'Remove' button and repeat the installation.

Only way I can uninstall the game is to manually delete the folder 'atari' in my programs folder. It does not create any uninstall icon or in add/remove. I did install Windows Installer clean up and clicked on remove for ghostbusters- but that did nothing. Atari folder still remained.
I got it to work though by copying over the bin folder into setup folder for Disc 2. It installed fine, no errors.
remove manually atari folder and re-install
Windows Installer clean up has removed old msi settings
no need to copy bin folder (can be deleted) to disk2 or disk1, bin files are stored into data4.cab-data9.cab

Peter - it worked! You are still the man! I needed to run that windows clean up in order to remove old msi settings. Installed both DVDS without error, after deleted the bin folder from dvd2. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

lol,i fixed atari fault
are the bins files in right place?

Yes, bins are in correct place. Atari did mess up the install on this one big time.
Thanks peterf1999 proper conversion works for me.
But one little edit:
In step 5 you write:
Copy:
'data1.cab & data3.cab'
files from 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1\Setup\' to 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_2\Setup\'
http://i42.tinypic.com/122zplu.jpg
As you see in picture 'data3.cab' is on DVD1. I think that 'data3.cab' isn't necessary on both DVD's. I'm tested without 'data3.cab' on DVD2 and works 100%.

On point 5), peterf1999, says: Copy: 'data1.cab & data3.cab' files from 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_1\Setup\' to 'temp\GHOSTBUSTERS_2\Setup\'
For strange reason data1.cab & data3.cab are necessary on both DVDs
edit1:
data1.cab & data3.cab are not necessary on both disks
uninstall the game ( or delete manually game's folder) and is very important to use Windows Installer Clean Up to eliminate previous bad installations settings

I known :D, msi was edited by me :D
the issue related to the bad previous installations

2nd edition: Now savegames are deleted with a prompt after uninstallation. Thanks to peterf1999 :)
3rd edition: The installer now is English only too.

Thank you
Great Work :D
Win7 (7120) x64
peterf1999's conversion works like a charme...
*GG*
peterf1999 Method works great:
At first i thought it wasn't working, because during the instaltion, it apears a message box that says:
Error 1311: Source file not found: L:\Setup\data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it
then i realise that data1 and data2.cab was ond the second image, so when i put the other image and click to repeat (not cancel) the instaltion keeped runing, then ask for the image 1, image2, and finally image 1.
but i noticed that only image 2 apears a message box asking for image 1, but image 1 doesn't apears the box sayng to put the image 2...
So Anyone here could tell me how can i make the image 1 apear the message box sayng : Please, insert the disc 2 and not sayng:
Error 1311: Source file not found: L:\Setup\data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it
But worked 100% guys, just be carefull about the fake error message, it only asking you to put the other image.
regards.
IMPORTANT TIP:
Oh, and one more thing
If you chosed the custom instalation, after the instation it will apears a window sayng that "the wizard interrupted before Ghostbusters (TM) The Video game could be installed.
The system has not been modifield...
Well, the only thing you need to do is: Copy all the content inside the Setup/bin folder and paste inside the programs files\Atari\Ghostbusters folder (the folder that the game was instaled inside your computer).

To clarify you're editing "...\setup\Ghostbusters (TM) The Video Game.msi" with Orca, and you're editing the MEDIA table to change the VolumeLabel for 3 & 4 from DISK1 to DISK2
It works but 1-2-1
Hello to all of you,
I have a question concerning uninstalling the game or, more importantly, how to do it. Is it possible to uninstall it completely using Revo Uninstaller or should I use another application to clean the Registry ?
Is removing all the folders enough ?
Cheers

Use Windows Installer Clean Up, e.g. here (http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459).
