1-Create 3 folders and name it :
Disk1
Disk2
Disk3

2-From DVD1 of game copy in to folder Disk1
All files Except the file Data4

3-From DVD1 of game copy in to folder Disk2
The files:
Data4
Autorun.ini
witcher.ico

Edit The file autorun.ini :

And Save

3-From DVD2 of game copy in to folder Disk2
The files:
Data5

4-From DVD2 of game copy in to folder Disk3
All The files except
Data5

5-From Disk2 folder copy in to folder Disk3 The files
Autorun.ini
witcher.ico

6- Burn or make iso from Disk 1-2-3 folders with labels
Disk1
Disk2
Disk3

Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD3

You need atleast 20GB of free space on harddrive (10GB for dvd content, 10GB for doing repacking of cabs)


1) Create Disk1 folder and copy all files from DVD1 & DVD2 there

2) download 494 and extract it into Disk1 folder, overwrite files when asked

3) Run batch file, You have 3 choices, run only one

1_remove_czech_russian.bat (removes czech and russian voice-overs)

2_remove_hungarian_polish.bat (removes hungarian and polish voice-overs)

3_custom_remove.bat (removes all voice overs except English if used without editing custom.txt)

Edit custom.txt and remove lines for voice-overs which you want to keep

Example: if you want to keep german voice-overs and remove others, then delete these lines from custom.txt

4) Run 4_clean_up.bat to remove iscab, txt and bat files

5) Create Disk2 folder

MOVE these files from Disk1 to Disk2

data6.cab (ignore if this cab doesn't exist)

TagesSetup.exe
TagesSetup_x64.exe
vcredist_x86.exe

COPY these files from Disk1 to Disk2

System folder

autorun.inf
witcher.ico

6) Edit autorun.inf in Disk2 folder with notepad and change open=Autorun.exe to open=0

7) Add folder for crack/patches into Disk2 folder

8) Burn or make isos with labels Disk1 and Disk2

Install sequence: DVD1-DVD2

i runned 1.bat, 2.bat, 3.bat and 4.bat files one by one.
other that...
if i move below files, i get an error. Because these files in system folder.

my mistake, don't need to move those cause those 4 files are in system folder, just copy system folder to disk2 after running bat file.

Why did you run all batch files? if you wanted to make english only then go to read "Witcher Enhanced Edition [English Only]" conversion

I ripped the way u mentioned using the batch 3_custom_remove.bat using the default custom.txt. After modification it turned out to be around a total of 4.87 GB. Is it normal ?

the size of the data cabs are as follows -

data1.cab - 1.17 MB
data2.cab - 2 GB
data3.cab - 2 GB
data4.cab - 766 MB

Its normal. This is 2xDVD5 conversion, this is for who wants to keep english + some other language or english only without compressing biks (thats why there is editing mentioned in custom part)

If you wanted to make english only DVD5 then check this (http://fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=361462&postcount=1)

dvd5 needs also compressed biks

Well, i've got the Witcher Enhanced Edition (PL edition), which contains bonus material..
Anyway, it seems that none of this conversion works on this. Just displaying info about non finding lang key 5.
Any suggestions?

you just need the latest patch v1.5, enhanced edition is pre-patched to 1.4(so this means you don't need to download earlier patches)

you can get it from http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/The-Witcher-Patch.shtml or http://www.worthdownloading.com/download.php?gid=739&id=19319 or anywhere else

Patch v1.5 also removes DRM and copy protection so you can play without the DVD in the drive

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a few years and finally decided to post a tutorial using some freeware tools you all

probably are familiar with, ultraarc and such, but today i am posting a thread on a new technique i found.

unfortunately one of the tools i use you will have to find yourself as i cannot post an attachment as it is shareware

and you need the full copy to get the full effect of this tutorial. anyway the name of the tool is game extractor 2.0

by watto studios. its only 5 bucks for the paid version and it was worth every cent of it i paid. the tool is amazing.

you can extract and modify almost any game archive. myst mhk, syberia syb files, lotr battle for middle earth .big

files.. you name it it probably can do it. =3

ok anyway heres what you do. p.s. this tutorial is for the witcher enhanced edition dvd9 version.

1.get a copy of the tool, game extractor 2.0 - ps, i read somewhere the author posted the full LEGAL version of an

older version 1.5 on the mod the sims2 site but dont quote me on that.

2.get a LEGAL copy of the witcher enhanced edition.

3.copy all the files from disk 1 and 2 into a folder marked 'WitcherEE' and follow this tutorial - i will paste it for

those too lazy to look it up. lol.

4. The Witcher Enhanced Edition [English Only]
The Witcher Enhanced Edition ENGLISH Only DVD5

You need atleast 20GB of free space on harddrive (10GB for dvd content, 10GB for doing repacking of cabs)

1) Copy all files from DVD1 and DVD2 to SAME TEMP folder

2) Download needed files

twee-eng.zip
intro.7z 89.79 MB
outro.7z 38.17 MB

3) Extract intro.7z and outro.7z into TEMP folder

4) Extract twee-eng.zip into TEMP folder, overwrite when asked

5) Run batch files

1_remove_vo.bat
2_replace_biks.bat
3_clean_up.bat

6) Delete Docs* folders except DocsENG

7) Edit setup.ini and change EnableLangDlg=Y to EnableLangDlg=N

8) Add crack folder

9) Burn or make iso with label of your choice

NOTES

When installing you don't need to uncheck languages which was removed

Intro.bik and outro.bik is replaced with highly compressed biks.

Intro.bik Original 1280x720 Avg Data Rate: 1,128,090 / Compressed 640x360 Avg Data Rate: 213,989 (Compressed to 20% of

the original)
Outro.bik Original 1280x720 Avg Data Rate: 1,200,124 / Compressed 640x360 Avg Data Rate: 240,556 (Compressed to 20% of

the original)

Videos are still very watchable when scaled, some blockiness and just not sharp as original. :)

5.once thats done, download the ultraarc_mods.7z from this forum and the script of your choice depending on your

preferred repack tool.

6.extract it to your hard drive or thumb drive, but make sure you have at least 20 gb of space - so i recommend your

hard drive or an external/and/or SSD hd. put ultraarc_mod - i used 2040 - along with ultraarc.ini in the folder with

your WitcherEE folders. i say folders because i forgot to mention you put the big files and folders in the first folder

WitcherEE_1 and the small files in the second. oh and if you havent figured it out already, you HAVE to install the

full game to your hard drive in order for this to work.

7.move all the files from the root directory of the game to WitcherEE_1 and the small files along with the remaining

folders into WitcherEE_2.

8.open ultraarc.ini in notepad and set the following -

9. after you save the ultraarc.ini file in the TWEE_Disk1 folder you need to create beforehand,
open up ultraarc - remember to put it IN the folder with the two folders, not in each WitcherEE folder!
p.s. if you're wondering why i enabled oggencode and bink it in the options, the game install has ogg audio and bik

movie files.

10. set your output dir to the one specified in the above .ini, add X:\TWEE_Disk1 - x being your hd letter - as source,

leave firstvolumecontent alone and make sure everything is set correctly. then click 'export config' then 'start'.

The process will take about 30 minutes to an hour or more depending on your ram and cpu speed, so grab a sandwhich or a

beer or whatever and wait it out. it will go through the encoding process 4 times, running 2 cycles each time.

when its done, check your output folder and your jaw will drop to the floor. 9.2 gb compressed to 2.87 gb!!! no joke, i

will include a picture as proof, as well as an attachment with the proper file layout and my ultraarc.ini.
