Hello everyone,
I saw some posts on the forum asking for cracks for the latest versions of NWN2 Mask of the betrayer. There is no need for a crack, the Poseden maxi image posted here (http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/?d=2006&f=poseden_MAXI_NWN2!rar) still works.
1. install the game + expansion
2. update it to the latest version
3. mount the maxi image in Daemon tools 4.30.0 (no emulations)
4. play

awesome, i'm trying this right now.
it did work with the latest crack that is out there (1.11.1153), but when leveling up i can't choose what skills, i have to use the "recommend" button. i don't know if that's because of the crack, but i'll find out soon.
Update: it works, even without disabling the real dvd-roms.

I saw some posts on the forum asking for cracks for the latest versions of NWN2 Mask of the betrayer. There is no need for a crack...The downside is having to use extra software (Daemon Tools in this case, the full version of which requires online activation which IMHO is even worse....) and the need to mount an image each time (though DaemonScript could presumably automate this).
Short of a proper crack, the next best thing for game owners to do would be to petition Atari (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=542650) to remove Securom completely.

Atari want to put in a 1.14 patch for NWN the same protection as in Alone in the Dark: online activation and DVD-check. Do you really think that the petition will change anything? Just talk with your wallet: don't buy any game published by Atari that has a certain protection.

Do you really think that the petition will change anything?Maybe not, but being silent will definitely achieve nothing.Just talk with your wallet: don't buy any game published by Atari that has a certain protection. My understanding of the 1.14 patch is that it will add online activation for subsequent expansions only. I am, of course, boycotting them and have mentioned it on that thread.

That info is just not true.
Only thing they want to put is a system to check ownership of Mysteries of Westgate pack, and any other new downloadable content, that can only be bought online.
Similar to NWN1 premium modules.
It should in no way affect how NWN2, MotB, or even new upcoming expanion (Storm of Zehir) works.
The idea is to protect game assests of such downloadable content, like its haks, modules or so, so you can't, for example, just copy them from someone else, like it's possibile with Oblivion downloadable content, and use them without paying.
Executables still uses old fashioned DVD-check, only.
