Hi there, first post and thread :) I need your help.

Here it goes.
I bought Assassin's Creed for PC. I put the cd in my computer. The install menu showed up. I clicked "install". It installed succesfully. However, if I then launch the game (or press "play") it says "Please insert the correct cd-rom, select OK and restart the application." This is simply bullshit :( And yes, it was installed in the correct drive.

I asked some friends what to do. They said "go to gamecopyworld and download a no-cd crack".
So I went to gamecopyworld (didn't know if it's existence beforehand) and downloaded the assassin's creed no cd crack. It was a 7z file. So I opened winrar, selected the file and clicked "extract to". I got this error : "No archives found in selected files and folders".

What did I do wrong???
Thanks for your help in advance

i suggest you read the faq...
also be aware there are 2 exe's for assassins creed.. one for direct x9 and one for directx 10... make sure you pick the right one.. sometimes winrar can fail on a 7zip (7z) file, so perhaps using 7zip (google for it) may also be a good idea

how do I know if it's the 9 or 10 one?

well checking your hardware would be a good start, and the os (directx 10 is only vista... currently)...

if you don't have a clue, run the game, alt-tab out and check the task manager
it should have assassins_creed_dx10.exe or assassins_creed_dx9.exe somewhere there (filenames may be slightly different, but i hope you get the idea)...

Hi there. First of all thanks to this forum, this has already been a great help!
Anyway.

It seems my Assassin's Creed version is very slow. Not the action itself, but especially the dialogues. While the speech is at normal speed, the movement of the characters during dialogue is very slow, in such a way that after a person has stopped speeking, the animation itself keeps moving its mouth for another 10-20 seconds! How do I correct this?

All my specs get the recommended requirements except for my processor, who gets the minimum. Is this the thing? I hope not! My birthday is in february ! :(

except the processor? well posting your spec's probably helps, but assassins creed is a relatively high end game.. is the game slow too or just the movie parts?
does this happen with the original exe + original disk, or just with the crack?

more info helps...

Whats the spec of your machine first off. I have an inkling that you do not meet the requirements.

Its possible, but lots of people actually buy games not knowing if their machine can take it or not.
