View Full Version : Problem with Battlefield series.
Well, I downloaded a no CD patch a while back and installed it. I think it was for Battlefield Vietnam. Then ALL of my EA Battlefield games (1942, Vietnam, Battlefield 2, 2142) stopped working at full potential. When I run them, sure they seem to be running alright, but the video settings are always set to the lowest because I CANT change them for some reason, including the resolution settings, which are stuck at a max of 1260x1024 while I use a 1900x1200 screen. Also, when I do try to play online, everything is like I have a ping of 2000 and I usually get disconnected. Funny thing is, I have all of these games, like the real copies, but I tried installing the no CD so I could play with a friend...
I dont know what to do. I reinstalled all of them with no results. Has anyone ever had this problem before? what do I do?
I even reinstalled windows for this damn thing...
Help!

I think it's some driver-, and not crack-related problem. See the PC game forum FAQ for general gaming solutions, including but not limited to updating drivers.
If you mean like video card related drivers, then its not it either. I have tried everything. I even switched my video card because of another problem and installed the new drivers and only EA games (Battlefield) has a problem with it.
Quite possibly a virus, something eating away at your resources.
I doubt its the crack you downloaded, but perhaps something you downloaded elsewhere.
www.trend.com and use housecall its a free online scanner. Because obviously your current AV if you have one didnt find it.
no its not a virus, i checked. so i still have the problem... no battlefield series on my best PC... damn. if anyone can help, id really appreciate it...
maybe i need to 100% delete ea games. how do i do that? like registry and such, i dont know much about PCs. how can i completely remove any fragment of battlefield/ea games from my pc?
Ok the question is this. Why not contact EA to help you since they have knowledge about the game more than us.
Or did you naughtily steal the game by downloading it?
I own every battlefield game, not pirated. As I said before if you would have read, I downloaded a no cd patch which caused this problem.
and I did contact EA games but they didnt know how to help. Trust me, I gave EA support a chance.

No, I'm not sure EA knows more about the game (yes, its own game) than us. Your best choice are people on the official game support forum - they play the game, they know its problems.
@DCfra
Well, I downloaded a no CD patch a while back and installed it.
Exactly which crack did you 'install'? And where did you get it from?
In general cracks do not get installed they get copied to a certain location overwriting the original files.
You said you reinstalled windows, did you format your system and do a fresh install or did you just reinstall over the top. I presume as you still have your problem you just installed over the top or just did a windows repair?
We need more detail please. ;)
