Hi, I'm opening a .iso game backup from my original game. the original game is about 4GB (the iso file too), but when I openes the iso in the ultraiso I get a 2,6GB game, so I search information in google and the game contain a few GBs of bad sectors (because use starforce protection), so I need keep the bad sectors. Oh, and I'm trying to do this, because I need modify and add a lot of files inside the .iso file.

somebody know an application to make this possible? or it's possible with ultraiso?

PS: i think that are bad sectors... but whatever I need all the sectors to keep the original size, bad/good/regular ;) sectors...

Thank's you

iso format isnt capable of handling starforce protections.... so forget it and use mds/mdf format..

Ok, I've a mds/mdf game-bakup now. so, how I can edit the files inside without broken the starforce protection?

PS:I searched in gamecopyworld and this game haven't a crack or mini image yet.
PS:The game's "Oniblade", starforce: 3.4/4.7 , I buyed it in ebay the last week.

Thanks in advanced

well, what is it you're actually trying to do? and how did you make the mds/mdf backup? (settings etc)...

to make the mini image, read the FAQ, i think thats what you're trying to do isnt it?

well, I trying to replace the install files, because I modify the russian installation and a few languague files from the game (for translate the game to english) with inno setup. It's exactly what I'm trayin to do. I make the backup with alcohol 120% (starforce settings) and the game works good( I think that it's a clonedvd right now). If I makes a mini image would be great, but I readed that for this protection (starforce: ¿5.2? or ¿4.7?) it's not possible make a mini-image coz the protection reads a lot of sectors in the disk or image.

well if the prot uses sector crc checking then yep a mini/maxi image is out of the question...

modification of the image is possible, but you MUST be cautious, and if the above thing about sector checking crc's is also evident you're screwed...

you can possibly change some of the file contents by opening the mds file (whatever one if the largest is the iso image ... yup, effectively an iso)... and doing inject/modification on the sectors using poweriso or something similar..

of course, if sector checking is in this range, then the change will mess up a crc.. thats practically guaranteed...

your best option might be to make your own 'home brew' installer disk and use that to install etc, then use the image to bypass the protection check... or using a no-cd exe if thats available too...

The New Starfarce Garbage versions uses bad disk sectors as Safedisk did? I didn't know the old versions I had in some games didn't have that crap

dont think it does, starforce worked off the angles of the sectors, i cant see how using bad sectors could improve that at all... safedisc was bad sectors and 'mangled' ecc data..
