You don't need to log into live! Just create a gamer profile and block access to the internet in your firewall, this will allow you to create a profile and play without logging into windows live.

Bought the game but Microsoft controls it especially window games live logon account to run it
Not sure what is going on but i dont want use windows game live or internet
Both nodvd on GWC doesnt seem to work especially its in spanish not english
Have run DVD that really sux cost me $100AU to buy should get money back

It is a XBOX360 console game and should be always

Actually GoW is better to me on the PC than Xbox360 version.

Also the warez release that first came out made everyone install the Spanish version, the crack doesnt do this, are you not telling us something?

my one installed in portuguese, definately wasnt spanish, possibly a bug in the installer, dont know, was damned annoying though... then it worked on my other pc.. so we cant jump to conclusions about people having the warez release....

personally i thought the game wasnt *that* impressive, usual fart in a spacesuit hype from microsoft, like halo2....

I downloaded the crack for gears of war, but I cant seem to get it to work. I replaced the startup file with the one provided, but when i start the program it still tells me i need to insert the correct cd, please help.

maybe its a fixed exe and not a no-cd?
i unstalled, couldnt be bothered reinstalling to check for you (the game was dung imho.. and oddly enough took about 1000 times longer to install than to uninstall heh) maybe someone else can help..

yup, since i won't use my original ( it's so expensive in my country so i don't wanna anything happen to the original copy, just made them as trophy ^^ ) made a copy of this game i got the rar. file in 2 parts, after I extracted it, install it use some crack from razor run it, voila!! keep bouncing me to windows because the wargear-g4warlive.exe aplication, please some one help me.

smell warez up here.
The game in your country - as in mine - can be expensive, but for install and setup is needed.
Instead of the copy, use your original to start playinf and then continue with the razor crack.

Nope, I already use my original copy as last resort eventhought i don't want to, but the result is the same, always bounced back to windows screen and with same massage, wargame-g4warlive.exe this apllication requested the runtime to stop it in unusual way.

Go to your Windows Firewall or Whatever Firewall you have..

Look for the Gears Of War Entry, and Uncheck / Delete it, and it will not connect.

Mkilbride2511, thanks for the reply, but I'm well aware of how to stop the game from accessing the Internet. That's not the problem. I was wondering what the process was for actually creating an offline profile. In game, the option is never given to do so. What I see so far is the "Gamer Profile" at the bottom of the main screen, and when I click it, it gives me the ability to create a profile. When trying to do so, with denying access to the game to access the Internet, the game tries to sign in, fails, and takes me back to the screen to create the profile. What I wanna know is what I'm doing wrong... am I missing something? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My main system is down unfortunately, and I can't remember exactly what to do as I'm using another PC temporarily and it won't run the game with 256mb RAM and a Ti500 64mb graphics card :)

I did click the Gamer Profile option and fiddle with the options there and got an account (I think) created, at least it let me play the game, and I never connected to the net!

Hey, Im having trouble starting up Gears of War ever since the patch has been released. Replacing the 'startup.exe' with the crack thats available no longer seem to work, does anyone here know of another way to start it up without the disc?

Mounting the iso doesnt work even with all emulation settings on such as securom and safedisc (even with YASU), I beleive gears of war has a new version of safedisc.
Starting up the patched game with the old crack results in the game asking for the disc. Mounting the iso and using the original startup.exe results in an error asking to insert the original dvd disc. Mounting the game with the cracked startup.exe loads up the splash screen and game, but an error pops up telling you to double click startup.exe to play gears of war.

Ive been searching the net for a while to no avail, maybe its a matter of waiting for a newer nocd crack.

My dvd drive recently malfunctioned and Im still awaiting my new drive, it was a god send that there was a crack for the original version so I could continue playing, but since patching I can find no other workaround. I refered to the ISO because i always backup my games to a seperate drive, its something ive always done incase I lose my cd's. So yeah obviously I cant re-install the game so im stuck with the patched version.

Whenever you upgrade your PC, keep the old DVD drive so that you have backup hardware for such purposes. You see, in its current state, your request is against forum rule #1.

I have the same problems after patching the game to the updated version.

Penkster: Game startsup okay when disc is in drive.
But when I try to start with nodvd exe game crashes and you go back to destop after the Epic and Microsoft intro.

I am writing this to find out what can be done about the game crashing. I have it for the pc. I have the nvidia 8800gtx with 746 ram onboard, 2gb memory, and a amd 6400+ processor with an AM2 slot and running vista. downloaded the patch and still having problems playing the game. I don't have a problem with no other game like Crysis, Timeshift, or even Call of Duty (advanced warfare). can anybody help. I don't even have a problem running Lost Planet. So, what can be done.

With the lifespan announced for only 3 years(they've announced the intent to release a new system in 2009), Vista won't make too many fans.
So we might be in 2009 on the same old XP:P

Hey guys, I updated Gears of War with the latest "title update" that was released, and applied the latest NO-CD crack that Battery released (bat-gow1.rar), the game loads up just fine but it won't let me access the Guide or open the Profile list by clicking on it's tab or pressing F1 (Home button doesn't work anymore either). It also appears to have broken the game's menu, sometimes you can't press back or escape to return to the previous menu, other times the sound in the main menu completly stops...etc

I was just wondering if that's the case with everyone which means that this crack should be nuked, or is it just me?

already did, the original works fine, even before i applied the title update. However i need the NO-DVD crack because it's alot less troublesome.

yes i have been having troubles with the new 1.1 gears of war crack too.
for me it doesn't even start the game anymore.
hopefully someone will crack it properly next time/ hopefully there is a fix soon!!!

Maybe, it's running an auto-update from its home server but it cannot access the Internet because of your firewall settings? More information, please! Also, try it without a crack first.

the problem is than it never ask for permision to access the internet now im going to run it with out the crack(but gonna take a while cause i have to reinstall it) aspecs of my machine (ati 9800, 768 ram, athlon 2500+, xp service pack 2, 1.83 ghz, these are also the minimun required)

I have weird problems with my copies.
when I start a new campaign everything was Ok.
but when the loading screen pop up, 10 second later I bounced up to windows with an error massage that said "runtime error, file binaries/wargame-g4wlive.exe the application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in unusual way":confused:
how I'm supposed to fix this, please help me:(

I have a similar issue. I got as far in the campaign as act 3. The video starting act 3 plays fine, and as soon as it's over it gives me the following error:

X Runtime Error!

Program c:\Program File...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

The message was contained in a window entitled "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library". Does anyone know how to fix that?

I have an error that nobody has mentioned, whit the original game, and whit the crack, I looked for help on the site of microsoft but there is nothing to help me, by the way the support from microsoft games sucks, no even close to ea or ubisoft support.

This is my problem I install the game, and i try to run it, it works, i select new campain, starts to loading, and bam!!, it kick me to the desktop whitout an error, I though maybe is cuz i have some virtual devices, or burner programs installed, so i came here for a crack, and... the same thing over and over, so i came here again and read about the update, so i downloaded, installed and... the same old thing, i got on the desktop again, no errors no nothing just that.

that same thing happend whit kane and linch game, ahhhhhh!!!!, something i havent told, bout games send me to the desktop, if i spend some time on the menu, about just 1 or 2 min after i enter the game.

I don't like to give myselft up so i tryed everithing on my mind, but now i'm whitout ideas, so please any help would be nice.

Something else, before runing the game (GoW) i got a message about getting a drive for my processor (my processor is an AMD athlon 64), it installed one that comes whit the game, but the one the game installs is version 1.3.2.0, and ask for 1.3.2.16 or after, i think this is silly, cuz why include an older version of the driver they are asking, so i went to AMD site for it, but is'nt there, only for AMD athlon 64/FX, i though this may work, but the game keeps asking for the driver.

I don't know if this may be the cuase of the error, also my game is in english not in spanish, can be why the crack doesn't work?, but... it also does it whitout it

Update other drivers, too (see the PC Games forum FAQ for a general guide). Also, ask people at the official game support forum rather than contacting the publisher/developer; sometimes the gamers know more about the game than its authors. ;)

Belive me I have buyed a lot of games, a lot, and is a pain in the ass the protections, I think ok, they must protect their work, ok, is fine for me, I would do the same, Should be this way You own the original, it would work fine, you have a copy, you are going to pay this whit a lot of work, cuz you are going to need cracks, programs to hide your drivers, unplugged your drives, but... Hey anyway you are going to do it even you buy the original one, come on, this guys doesn't think?

I have many games that I need it a crack to play it, even whit the original, you say ok i will contact the game support, and they say, ohhhhh sorry, you must unplug your burners, uninstall, your programs, and pray for the game says it's ok know you can play me. I ended finding a solution on my own, or whit help out of the game's support

Publishers are greedy and THEY choose the release date, not the developers. My advice: don't buy games before the first one or two official patches. (This may apply to other software, as well, and doesn't mean to get the software as warez instead. ;))

Just finished uninstalling the game waiting for an answer from you guys. Do you create the gamer profile during the install?
I just uninstalled the game due to the fact it will not let you create a profile in the menus so I would only assume you can do it during install.
Its a shame cause I had already installed the patch#2 which contains #1 as well.
This game is so great that I'm willing to go through the trouble again and again.
I thought it was kinda rude from the developers to not fully test the pc version and probably not build a gow2 for pc. Sucks cause all these games are designed on a pc.

Well there is thousands of hardware combinations that it is very difficult to test every possible scenario. GOW was buggy as hell anyways :P So I played it on my 360 instead.

But also remember they may be designed on a PC but they use software that are designed to run through an engine emulator on the PC that emulates XBOX 360 hardware.

Why it wont let you make a profile is funny, you did add your cd-key right and connect to the Live servers?

I've got a problem²... I've got the original game... so I tryed to update to the version 1.2, but I can't download... I've got a legal Key, I've got enough connection speed to the internet, I've got a profile/acc also all steps are working, but if I start updating - the window is closed and nothing happend...:mad: ->:confused: ->:(

Where can I download the patches to (without "YOU HAVE 2 USE MS-LIVE-TRASH")... and pls official sites of web...

And "YESSIR!" I've alredy asked the MS-Support for more informations about that, but they only say: "CHECK YOUR FIREWALLSETTINGS! IF THAT DON'T WORKZ TRY A REINSTALL!" I've done... nothing happens - nothing changes... by the way -> Crack v1.0 workz @ my system - but still same error/bug/"what ever"...

That's exactly my problem -> the updatefunction of MS-LIVE don't work... I don't know why and how, and MS-Support don't know that²... so I need another way to update my Game!
First I installed the Game correctly, then I create a Profile/Account... so until this Point all is gonna be ok, but then I wanted to update my game and the open window of MS-Live is closing at the moment I click on the button that I've to push for Updating?? - Grrrr!

I've got no Idear why...

So I deinstalled the Game - including - regedit to clean the registration... then I installed again -> Same Problem, nothing changes!

Then I thought, that the crack can help... because I thought the Crack is a changed .exe file and it works not the same way like the original... in the past that was a way to pass the problem of another game, I don't know wich game that was, but I remember! Ok, at this problem that answer of that question was not the right! It's not the way to pass that problem...

I've tested the Setup.exe of the official patch- named: "UPDATE~1.exe" but that doesn't works to...

SRY, my english is only school english and I learned it years and years ago... so - sry!

And by the way... that PROBLEM forces me to ask the question, that never have been asked because it's against the rules, but wich options left - ??? The Option wich I thought it can be the right and I think it at that the moment², is the only idear that helps, but who can I ask, where can I ask that question, who can help... how can I ask, if that question is the only way to pass that problem???? That's shit... exactly it is... and the "PASS" isn't illegally @ all... sry, that I can't understand yet!

Well...

Im not 100% sure what your trying to say.

If you have downloaded the updated and tried to install but failed. Could mean.

Crack is still in use, updater wont install update due to difference in file size of the main executable.

Or..

Your trying to install an update for a different region version of the game.

But at the end of the day, Microsoft or the game developer is your best bet, as they know more about the game than anyone here.
