Call of duty 4 private server patch

i installed the call of duty 4 game and its awesome i also installed the private server no wait patch but when i go online and hit join server andtry to find servers it just stays there and wont find a thing! :(

what am i doing wrong?
i allowed cod4 multiplayer in my firewall

ive never used a private server patch before is there something i need to do to play this game online (i have a cracked version)

plz help cant wait to play this online
