hmm, is your pc setup for native english?
i've seen this issue happen on some pc's that were setup for german, etc...
and its a unicode issue... the '?' character is the invalid one in this list...

Do you try to install the game off of an original disc or a backup disc?
Do you already tried to find a solution for this problem in the official EA-Forums?

You better download a copy of the game from the internet rather than upsetting your mode with the present one.:rolleyes:

I encountered this problem with NFS ProStreet last night, I simply edited the folder path in the "autorun.dat" file.
I found through the localisation.ini file that the folder name was to be;
[TITLE]
en-us=Need for Speed™ ProStreet

I then searched for "™" in the "autorun.dat" file and replaced it with a space(20) so the folder would now be named simply "Need for Speed ProStreet"

Send me your autorun.dat if you have trouble with it.

I had a look through it and didn't notice any special characters used in the folder paths. What error message are you receiving?

Do you have a localization file, usually found in the Support folder of the game directory(or game disc), if you have it send me a link to it.
