Did a search and couldn't find a thread about the two.
So, now that both Alcohol and Daemon Tools (Pro) are 'paid' software ..... which one is actually better? Better as in making higher quality images.

PS: I know DT has a Tages dumper and so far Alcohol hasn't release a new version to be able to make Tages images.

daemon tools is available in a free (well, adware) verson too...
alcohol makes and burns images, daemon mounts them
daemon tools pro can also make images - daemon tools 'lite' can not
daemon tools (at least on my pc)... does not burn...
and yep daemon tools pro has the tages dumper, and virtual ide too...

Only thing I like about DT pro is the Tages dumper... anyways, TippeX's post sums it up nicely.

Yeah the TAGES dumper works great, you don't need the Pro version to run tages games once you've made the image, the free DT can mount and run it.

Just asking the question since I'm on trial version for both of them, leaning towards paying for DT Pro at the moment for that dumper but was wondering if Alcohol is 'better' in other respect.

only advantage alcohol gives really is the functionality to burn images....
usually with dt and alcohol its a cat vs. mouse game, in respect to which is better, dt at the moment is certaintly winning the race... their updates are far far far quicker than the alcohol ones
