:mad:Here's my situation...I have Sims 2 and Sims 2 Nightlife games in folders on my computer. I have owned both games and others. Unfortunately, thanks to a move recently, I cant find my original disks for Sims 2.

I realized this AFTER I bought my newest expansion, Bon Voyage. When I try to install the new one, it tells me it cannot find the original Sims 2 on my computer.

If all the files are there...why is it not finding it? Keep in mind, I'm not asking for codes (I have all those written down and registered on EA). I just need to know if there's a way to install and play this new expansion without my original Sims 2 disks.

I tried to look for autorun or install in my Sims 2 folder, but couldn't find anything but UNinstall. If I'm missing files, is there any way to get the ones I need? Like I said, I have the full folders for both games...but cant find install.exe

The Sims 2 Updates do not look after any files on your harddisk. The setup reads the registry where Sims 2 has been installed (Path, etc...).

If it does not find any value, you need to...
- reinstall Sims 2 from your original disk.

Where those registry-infos where gone to...?!
- Maybe Windows reinstalled?
- Warez-Version without installer?!

By the way: Rules say, no requests without the original disks...

There is no way to install the expansion without the original disc. The patches and the expansions are looking for the original CD1 or the DVD. That happens since the first patch and and the first expansion.
