Help with Medieval Total War Gold

I checked out the directions for the No dvd patch found here http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_medieval_total_war.shtml

But I do not understand. First of the "unofficial" patch link leads to the "official" total war patch.

And also, where is the "patch/file archive"?
