hey! i asked you about the swap trick and you recommended against it and said i should get a mod chip ... thanks ...
so how do i now proceed? what do i need to know? i looked around briefly at some of them (like the USB ones etc.) and they all need some kind of soldering/electronic knowledge, it seems ...
also, they seem to say that you need other stuff for the mod chip to work with the ps2, like some software (Action Reply 2?)
sorry, this whole thing is pretty new to me.
also, i have just a regular crappy burner ... is it going to be a problem when backing up ps2 games? as in, are they harder to back up than standard psx games?

thanks charlie! i appreciate your help!

Get the PS2 professionally chipped. NEO2.2 or Origachip are recommended.

2/
Use DVD Region X or Action Replay 2 as your boot disk. Then you swap in the backup game. Boot methods are described in tutorials on ####://www.ps2ownz.com or ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk or ####://www.sgt-dan.com . I use DVD Region X as it's very simple.

You might (not) need to upgrade your burner to be CloneCD compatible. Then all CD games can be copied with no patching needed. Tuitotials are at the above mentioned sites. CloneCD is downloaded from ####://www.elby.de and they supply a list of cmpatible burners on their website. Check your burner with the list on the site first; PS2 game copying is the same as PS1 - but try and avoid patching.

With that, and the notes a provided to others under the search heading "NEWBIE" you are equipped and will flourish.

Good luck.
