Starting the Tomb Raider Anniversary Demo I get this error:
A required security module cannot be activated.
This program cannot be executed (8008).
Please have a look at http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=module&c=8008 for further, more detailed information.
This probably is, because I use a windows compatiblity layer to start the game (WINE)
Operating System: Debian Etch
Following the URL I'm told that I have a debugging tool running,So either the WINE compatibility layer provides debugging functionality or SecuROM detects a false positive.
Is it easier to circumvent this kind of protection, than to circumvent copy-protection?
(I had a similar Problem (just without a single message) with the Tomb Raider Legend Demo, the NOCD-Crack for the full version worked on the demo)
Can I find further information on that topic (demo cracks, debugging tools) somewhere?
(In case the answer to both questions is clearly a "No", please close this thread to avoid discussion about NOCD-Cracks for Tomb Raider Anniversary, which isn't out yet (Rule 6 of the Forum))
