Hi,
I updated to shivering isles and used the NO CD crack but now when trying to load a SAVED GAME, it freezes and stays frozen. I've left it for 10 mins to see if it would load the saved game to no avail. The game loads fine up to that point. I have reinstalled shivering isles twice now but hate to reinstall Oblivion for fear of losing my saved games.
Help!!! AW

you might need to start a new savegame. I doubt its due to fault of the NOCD. but more likely due to any mods you may have had installed at the time of making yours save.
all i can suggest is install oblivion (with no mods), load up your last save, jump to a big city if you arent in one, then save it again and update to Shivering Isles.

I think the order is TES4, patch 1.2, Shivering Isles.

Shivering Isles automatically update 1.2, so you can install Oblivion and then Shivering Isles without the patch.
Check if you are using the correct no-cd. There is Shivering Isles 1.2 on gamecopyworld, use that one.

if you update to 1.2 before putting shivering isles on, you actually get a newer version of oblivion out of it. if you notice SI has an earlier build number, but if you put the patch on first, SI wont update it n youll have the newer release, at which point the 1.2 NOCD's will work, but its likely the SI ones won't.

Thanks! What you are saying makes sense. What I did is I installed shivering isles and then installed the SI no cd. That's when the game froze trying to start the saved games. I don't have any unofficial mods installed. I then tried to patch with the oblivion no dvd patch but that didn't work either. What do you all suggest I do now?? .

Reinstall would be a solution...

OK...I reinstalled everything and transfered my saved games to a new disk. The game loaded fine, there were no saved games. When I went to start a new game, it froze again. So, the problem may not be with the game. I'm going to update video drivers and see if that works. My rig is:
3800 X2
2 gig ram
xp pro
6600GT
What do you all think?

Updating the vidoe drivers is a good idea.93.71 is the latest driver for Nvidia on XP. For Vista is the 100 series(there are separate drivers for serie 8).
Also the newest DirectX 9.0c should work.
