View Full Version : Nintendo Attempts to Block Wii Modchips
Looks like Nintendo might be manufacturing new motherboards to go into the wii that might not be compatible with the current modchips. This doesn't effect anyone who already has a wii, but it looks like people who don't have one will have to worry about getting the right version now. Great....

Maybe they should stop trying to change stuff, and get their freaking consoles out the door so they're more readily available!!! JEEZE!!!
Looks like they're making it so the quick solder points won't work anymore. For the wiikey, and one other chip you'll have to use wires if you get this kind of wii.
But I'm thinking they won't even be hitting the stores for a couple more months. It might be good to go pick out a wii now so you can make sure you can mod it easily.
glad i was 1 of the 1st to get a wii heheheh
There will always be a way to hack.
Sony learnt that the hardway with the PSP.
Besides,
So far none of these new wii motherboards have been found in America -- They're mainly in Asia. However, someone posted in maxconsole that they found one in Europe. Looks like its a bit more difficult to mod, but definitely still doable. Wired install for wiikey still works.

No big deal. I was nervous attacking the D2B chip with my Dremel but its easier than it looks/sounds.
