Ok, Heres the problem. I purchased BF2 installed and ran no problems. Had hard drive failure and tryed to re-install battlefield2 and found cd disc 3 is bad. I believe it is unrepairable. Its not a scratch the cd player door actually closed on the outer edge and you can actually see thru the dot/scratch from the other side. I payed for this game software have a valid key and I dont want to pay a second time. Disc 1 and 2 are fine.

How Can I back up disc 3 to an image file and then replace the bad files and burn to new cd?

I have a copy of disc 3 from another source to replace my bad files only.

I want to copy my bad disc and then replace the bad spots/files using my other source. The bad spots arent that big. After I replace I would then burn to cd creating a new cd3.

What format is the CD3 you have from another source? Is it a burned CD-R or files/ISO on your HD? If it's files/ISO just burn them/it to new CD-R and use it for installation.

If CD3 is used as the copy protection check then using your original CD3 will work for that as I think the protection is at the beginning (inner part) of the disc so wouldn't matter if the outer edge is bad.

Closed, forum rule #1. (And wrong forum, too.)
