DVD media on PS2....

Does anyone know if the Slim PS2's are more picky with DVD-r media? my version7(39001) played about every name brand of dvd-r media when i copied a game onto it. Now i have a 77001 and it has a real hard time playing games that i know work. You would think the laser inthe 77001 would be tons better than the old faulty 39001 lasers. I tried playing call of duty2(copied) and when it would load the first battle it would hang. But the time to actual boot the game up is normal. Same thing with MX vs ATV, the bootup would be normal times but loading the race it would just sit there. The games are scratched but not bad. But if i put in the Original SOCOM2, it would play fine and load everything. not sure what is going on

Can't say I've noticed myself. Of the slim ones I've had in to mod, they've all seemed to be fine with copied media (I only use Ritek/Verbatim DataLife+ as my test discs though).

even if the disc is lightly scratched it has a hard time reading it. hell on the old ver7, i could use sandpaper on the dvd-r and it would still read it.:D
