Hi,
How do you create a game fix??

well you learn asm, you learn the windows api
and you then work on reversing the protection etc..

or did you mean something else?

OK, so where do I begin...Something like a guide for beginners, tutorials?? What is asm or windows api??... N00b here, lol

For all the people that don't know, there is a guide on this site. Go to the PC Games forum... Theres a sticky thread by JoyBoy called guide's, tutorial's & Hint's. Inside that thread you'll find links to tutorials on creating cracks

yup, and then you have a LONG way to go, esp. with most modern protection used....then you have to research anti debug, key encryption, cd/dvd protection signatures and many many other things

To learn assembly and OS API's, buy some books and or attend some courses (are there any?). Disassemble programs and understand how they work, then change their behavior by directly modifiying the EXE (no source, no recompiling!): that's hacking. By the time you're finished with this - in a few years -, you'll already know how to continue with the next level: cracking...

I didn't expect this to be easy, because if it was everyone would've created their own cracks. I thought I'll have to study a few(or alot of) hours before I can create my first crack

well chances are you'll have to remove the protection first.. so those 'few hours' will most likely turn into months/years

For me the most ugly stuff atm is Antidebug :/
It's very annoying trying to analyze current Securom version with all these stupid CRCs and that Push ss fuck.
It always seems to detect my Olly, I read some stuff about CloseHandle but I'm not really sure what to think about that.
Playing around with the return values often works but i still get some of these stupid SR messages 'safety module'

Also you need softice and win_disassemble32 which only win98 operating system works on to make game fixes
Look for google search softice and disassemble32 something like that download it remembering win98 needed and play with it
Have fun i did you have to be a good programmer to understand ones and zeros
No such luck for winxp users dont quote me on that

no you dont, 9x was fine to crack on ages ago, now 2k and xp offer considerably more power and safety...

you need a debugger sure - softice OR ollydbg, syser, windbg, whatever
you might need a disassembler - win32asm, ida, whatever

ollydbg - works fine in nt os's (2k, xp) - have not tested it in 9x/me
softice - bit out of date now, different versions work in different os's
syser - works in nt systems only i think (2k, xp)
disassembler should work in pretty much any flavor of windows

and you need, pencil, paper, patience too

supre250 is obviously mis informed or living in the dark ages or just starting off and wanting to give everyone his 'expert wisdom'....he really needs to research more.
