Can't play backup with Jap PS2

Hi, I downloaded Crash Bandicoot, ICO, and Batman from IRC and burned them on CD with no problem. But when I tried to boot them up with the swap trick on my Jap PS2 (model 10000), all I get is a black screen. I know for certain that my PS2 can boot backup because I do it for all the Japanese backups with no problem.

Are these files from IRC soley for the US PS2? Or is there something that I'm missing?

Assuming you boot with the Utility Disk, the Universal Patcher 1.5 needs to be applied to the CD. So the result of what you downloaded and burned should be taken onto hard disk with CDRWin, patched and burned back. That should work if all other conditions are workable.

If there is a file called PBPX_952.01 on the CD made from the IRC download, then it's already patched by UP and something else is wrong. Downloads can be dodgy.
