I'am encountering a strange problem with the Starforce driver with Armed Assault, the game was working perfectly using a fixed .mds. However I uninstalled the game to restore the original files in order to use an updated language translation utility.

The problem is the SF driver won't reinstall, everytime I run the game it asks me if I want to install the SF driver and reboot, I do so but when I attempt to run the game again it prompts me to install the driver and reboot, continually.

I attempted to manually remove the driver and then install it through the protect.exe, eg:

protect.exe /drv:uninstall
protect.exe /drv:remove

then

protect.exe /drv:install

However this doesn't work, the game is still prompting me to install the SF driver and reboot. This was working perfectly before I uninstalled the game.

Have you tried the stand-alone Starforce driver removal tool (http://www.onlinesecurity-on.com/protect.phtml?c=55)?

Hi Bangers,
please could you tell me how could you play it when it worked?

I have it installed, mounted the image, but everytime I try to run the game the protection blocks me...
Please help me, I am going literally insane!!

Thank you
Rick

Thanks Joe, that utility worked perfectly!.

Rickusty, there is a thread in the 'PC Games' forum for Armed Assault, in which I have previously posted a solution for the game. :)

The thread is here: http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=79207
