Have a problem and was hoping someone here could help.
Here's the deal:
I've put MK Armageddon (special edition) on the PS2 HDD using HDAdvance. The game and features work great. My problem is that it won't load UMK3:( I've tried all combination of Modes in HDA, but nothing works. The entire game just locks up whenever I try to play UMK3.
Is there a patch or a work-around out there that would fix this:confused:
Thanks in advance
--edit--
don't know if its important, but I have a version 9 PS2(ntsc) and am using a 80gb Maxtor drive
just looked at the files on the disc and saw UMK3.ELF hdl cant load multiple elfs so try opening the system.cnf and point it to UMK3.ELF and reinstall it as UMK3 and it might work but then it will only be umk3 that will play

Thanks, snake2.
Could you help me with directing system.cnf to the umk3.elf:confused:
I created an iso on my pc and used poweriso to open it. I then opened system.cnf with notepad. Then I was lost:o
It gives me this:
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SLUS_215.43;1
VER = 1.01
VMODE = NTSC
I don't know what to put in to make it launch the umk3.elf.
make system.cnf read
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\DESI\UMK3.ELF;1
VER = 1.01
VMODE = NTSC
i have not tried this because i just play off the disc so give it a try and let me know if it works

Didn't work. When I did that and tried to put it on the HDD, it told me that it was not a valid PS2 disc. And yes, I used the swap method with the changed/burned copy.
I took the info(thanks, by the way) and did some experimenting. Tried rebuilding, renaming, reorganizing, replacing and deleting......all to no avail:(
Guess I'll have to stick to the disk for UMK3 until I figure something out.:rolleyes:
use winhiip to put the image on the hd after you change system.cnf

I tried hooking the PS2 HDD directly to my pc as a slave drive, but its an Ultra ATA drive and my pc only has hookups for SATA. Sooooooooo............I'll try to hook my pc to the PS2 with a LAN cable when I get time.
well i gave it a try and it didnt work guess you will just have to use the disc to play umk3
