I have a rather complex situation here, so bear with me as I explain.
A while back, I bought a few CD games for Windows with copy protection (MechWarrior 3 and Rollercoster Tycoon are the others, but they have the same protection, so one solution should fit all) and they all seem to have SafeDisc version 1, which I have heard is weak. So I've decided to focus on SimCity 3000 UK Edition first as this is the one I want most.
What makes this a bit complex is that I'm no longer using Windows at all. I switched to Linux in April and I want to run these in Wine. Now I know that Wine can run SC3K at least, but SafeDisc currently trips it up. So I need to way to kill SafeDisc and make an unprotected ISO before I can play it.
Now I could use Cedega or buy the Linux version of SC3K, but the latter won't solve the problems with MechWarrior 3 or Rollercoster Tycoon (neither of which are available for Linux) and both would cost money, which I don't want to do since I already legally purchased these games!
So what I need is a way to kill SafeDisc version 1 from within Linux, and get an ISO that Wine won't choke on. Help would be much appriciated.
