I am extracting the files with WinRAR into my desired destination. After extracting them and putting them and mounting the files, I go to run the "autorun" file. (I am using The Sims 2 University and Nightlife expansion packs) either a black window pops up for a millisecond without doing anything, or I get a message saying autorun is not a compatible win32 file. Any suggestions?

Mount the mini image using Daemon Tools, an Explorer Window will probably open, CLOSE it!
Start the game from the original desktop shortcut.

Should I use my University disc or what? No disc in the tray and it will still load the features? Thanks.

Your problem is mentioned explicitly in the forum FAQ.

Ok lets start from the beginning as you havent really explained yourself well?
What/which 'files' are you extracting and where did you get them?

I would say, he bought only the both expansions and he is thinking the mini image contains the full Sims2-Game so he can play the expansions.

Yes I too have this strange feeling that is what he is trying to do. :)

@smlutz
You do realize you need the original Sims 2 game installed before you can install the University and Nightlife expansion packs?
