Streaming

Hi there,

I'm kind of a newbie here. I started experimenting with new ways of using a pc (not just games:D ). I heard about radio streaming and looked a bit around on the net, but there are so many tools available. I need help in finding the right one, could you help me out there?:confused:

Yeah, as Joe said you can use WinAMP, ShoutCAST... There are also tools specialised on internet streaming like ReplayAV, Radiotracker, StreamRipper, Perfect Sound Recorder... Now it depends on how handy you are with the PC and how much you know about streaming

I know my way arround with PC's, the thing I'm not quite used to is this new area of streaming on the internet... So I'm kind of looking for an easy tool to use. I'll check out the ones you pointed out.:p

I'd suggest in this case to use Radiotracker. I used it from the beginning and I'm quite pleased by it. What I liked most is the very large wishlist it comes with. It also has the option of ID3-tagging and you can organize your music well.

Me again...
I played around in the past days with a few tools and stopped at Radiotracker. I used the demo version and I'm thinking about buying the full version. I have a question, though... Is it possible for Radiotracker to record only tracks I defined in the wishlist? I have entered a few artist names for Radiotracker to find mp3's for, but it brought much music I do not need. So any ideas?:confused:

A new version of Radiotracker is on the market, as I said, I was thinking about buying the tool and I did. The last version is even better than Radiotracker 2, it changed a little bit and it has a lot of options.
Has anyone tried it too?

Not long ago I wanted to stream some internet radio stations, but the well known stations are not listed, so the software is almost useless.

I want to ask you 2 Questions:

1) Who would buy the cd´s from the radio stations if you could stream them?

2) Who would buy music from itunes, napster or any other shop if you could stream the titles?

The answer is simple almost nobody.

Internet radio is usually of worse quality than audio CD's.

Hi,

First I would like to say that the last version of Radiotracker has over 14.000 webradios listed and if there really were a station that is not listed you can add it manually with the condition that it is a shoutcast station, if not, Radiotracker can not do much....
I personally bought Radiotracker and I download from stations much music, but this doesn't mean that I don't buy cd's I would like to have. So you see, there are people who both buy cd's and download music:)

I use the new version. Radiotracker 3 si even better than the last version. Especially the improved wishlist function using a kind of p2p network. That makes it easier and faster to get a lot of free music from internet radio stations.
Other new functions are for example the synchronisation with mobil devices (IPod, Handy...)
