I'm having a problem. I haven't got the money to buy a mod chip, or any software to make burnt PS2 games work. I have the PS2 and a nice computer with plenty of burning programs. Though I realize a PS2 reads the interior ring of a CD/DVD, rather than the actual burnable disk to load, I was hoping possibly someone might have a way to help. Now I downloaded a PPF program because it said on gamecopy world that it was something I could use, but I have no idea HOW, and there aren't any instructions. I have no idea where to turn, I've been looking for programs to work for almost 3 years now, I know I could go buy at least 2 programs out there that would do fine, a friend of mine has them, but as I said, no money. I mean if I could afford to buy those, do you think I'd have a problem affording to buy a couple games? lol. So if you could give me a link to a website with DETAILED instructions on how to use PPF for PS2 games that's written in lamens terms, or if you could give me a link to some software for making the games work, I'd greatly appreciate it. For any of your concious out there that might be affected, if and when I do get enough money, I do just simply buy the games but it would be nice to know what the games were like without spending 7-8$ to rent and just test them, you know? Thanks.

I don't think those patches crack the games as copy protection takes place not only on the CD/DVD but also inside the console itself. As for trying out games before buying them, go to a rental instead of attempting piracy (see the forum rules).
First, There is no "downloadable" boot disc or software that will allow a PS2 or PSX backup to load on a "unmodded" console. My advice, save your money and buy a modchip or a swap magic boot disc. The better of the two being the chip.
Second, We do not support piracy period!! Rent the games as Joe said above or borrow one from a friend to try out. Do not ask for help with downloaded games or any game that you do not own the original.
And BTW, Welcome to FF

Yes it is :(. This forum as well as the other console forums used to thrive with intelligent people/topics just like the PC forum does now. Not sure what happened but for some reason nobody comes here anymore. We have a lot of "guest" that drop in but practically no daily members come here anymore. It is truly sad :(
Anyway good to see your still around Spedmetal, I'll try to catch you on AIM sometime :)
