Apart from Game Fixes (Fixed Exe Files, Fixed Images etc.) there are often released "No Intro Fixes" for several games. What are these files for???

Well, what do you think there are used for?

Don't you get annoyed when you have to stare at the same intro/commercial slips over and over every time you start your favourite game?

No intro fixes = removes game intros and/or commercials like "New Line Cinema", "Runs best on Intel P4" etc etc

even if this question isnīt pointed at me :p, i gotta say : hell yeah, i do!

worst example is EA with their neverending intros in almost eyery game.made me especially mad in BF2, iīm glad that it was so easy to remove that.

I totally agree on that, EA gotta be the worst when it comes to that.

I'm removing the intro(s) from the self-made rips of pretty much every game I have. (They go into separately installable "modules".) Like who the hell would want to watch the same, mostly uninteresting and boring, little movies for the Nth time?!

I guess some of these game designers think that gamers are impressed by long and often boring introduction videos to games. Personally, I think that there is nothing more insulting than to have to sit thru a long introduction every time you launch an un-modified version of the game!

At least some of the games allow you to click through these intros, but for the ones that do NOT, I say thank GOD for the no-intro fixes!!!

By the way, the same can be said about "intros" on factory (i.e. not home video) DVD's, as well. I'm very happy that AnyDVD can get rid of them automatically; having to sit through up to almost a minute of boring junk would make me scream... :)

@Joe
having to sit through up to almost a minute of boring junk
Geez you guys get it easy in Hungary! :p
We normally sit thru at least 5 to 20 minutes worth of junk in Australia, thats including trailers of course. ;)

And some of the game intro's are nice to watch but only once or twice then its nice to be able to escape out of them.
And yes those which dont allow you to escape are just downright annoying. ;)

Oh, well, dunno, whatever... I launch AnyDVD right away whenever wanting to watch a factory DVD so I don't know the usual length of DVD "intros"! ;)

I second that EA seems to be the worst Publisher for intros.. with Ubisoft close behind

The worst Intros are the piracy warnings on DVDs... They have a a crappy anti-piracy commercial running on NTSC that can't even be skipped... I'll be looking into Any DVD ;)

One has to wonder when the same shitty anti-piracy and FBI warnings are opening your next round of Quake, of Half-Life :(

The ironic part.... those warnings are stripped from the pirated copies.. making them as effective as a one-armed juggler.

And how would you know this? lol

Dont dig your own grave diesel.

They have been doing it for years and even before PC's and DVD's

Even arcade games had an FBI warning flash up all the time.

Im guessing on Pirate DVD's.. I couldn't get away with not buying the stuff.. My girlfriend seemingly likes to just spend my cash on this junk..

Hence, Every Sims Game every made.. which she just had to have.. collecting dust on my bookshelf..

As much as I complain about the price and the crappy anit-piracy I will still end up buying it... I blame my girlfriend...

If I can hold her off untill it hits the 2 for $11 bin at Wal-Mart it is a victory..

Anyone feel me on this?
