hi!
I've recently bought a PS2 and have been playing until the dvds won't read properly anymore. The cd games work fine but the DVD games either do not work or load VERY slowly. Is this common?? What is wrong with it, could it be a laser calibration error? (The PS2 has not been opened before and has been sitting in area free of damage). Please help. I miss it a lot.

I suppose this is a classic case of what's wrong - the DVD or the PS2 - especially if you bought a new PS2 "recently". The acid test is to take a new condition DVD and see what happens. If it loads as you'd wish, wash the others in warm soapy water and try again. If the new DVD doesn't perform as you'd wish, take the PS2 back to the #####r under warranty.

Have you had the PS2 modchipped recently? A calibration may have been performed then contributing to your problem. But I favour my first answer.

hi,

you can use a cleaning disc for the laser.

hi thanks for the reply. I thought it was the dvd that was causing the problem but i had new dvds which did the same thing. It was strange because the warranty label was still on the ps2 and no one has tampered with it yet. VERY STRANGE.
