Just so that you know - Reloaded cracked .exe is scrwed up and causes more crashes than using D4 and ASR.EXE. Its nuked. I do not have the crack myself but nForce.NL report crashes. Nearly al crack users report crashes.

You can copy the savegamefolder in Desktop Files.

Copy and uninstall your TQ, reinstall and paste your savegame.

It´s only work if your savegame files aren´t corrupted (you know).

If you have cr4shes use the DT4 and asr.

If you burn Vnl34sh3d version (nfo settings) and install from DVD, you can use R3l04d cr4ck very fine.

I am actually in Delphi and i have not cr4shes. (Vnl34sh3d version +R3l04d cr4ck )

Well the game seems to be utterly bad coded. Random crashes of sound failures, protection issues and so on are normal.

Mount the image with Daemon Tools and use latest CureROM (2.03), it resolves the blacklisting problems with Titan Quest... or just use your original CD :D

When using the the no-cd patch the only way I could stop the game crashing was to disconnect the internet, otherwise it was crashing at the same point with every new game I started. The gave saves were corrupted and the game crashed when trying to continue.

After I disconnected the internet the game save loaded and I could carry on playing. It must phone home at various points.

On my system only the patch would allow the game to start; using Pr0t.St0p and Securom_Loader etc didn't work for me.

Try switching off the internet.

The reason why your games are crashing is simple, you failed the cdkey check and your game crashes.


Hence why people are trying these "fixes" to play the game.


If you have the original the game works no problem. If you have the original and your genuine cd-key and use a crack, the game works no problem at all.

i dont think so, i read some threads at the offical german TQ board and many many people with the original retail version/key have crashes.

Goto to THQ forums for TITAN QUEST and read about the crashes.I dont think the people who are writing there have a copy of the game.They are using the original.I

Those fixes are useless since the crashes are game- and not crack-related as stated in official forums!

Titan Quest Engine crashes sometimes because of the following reason:
The engine.dll uses multithread technic which means 2-5 processes use the
same mem address. This means loading sfx and loading gfx goes to same
memory address and sometimes this leads to that they get mixed and then

How do I force the game to use the extracted files and not those inside the archives? Should I delete the *.arc files?

1.turn off internet connection,
2.turn off antivirus
3.turn off process Daemon tools

ok guys, i found a solution that works very well for me:

-first i de-installed TQ completely
-re-installed it
-the only emu software a have installed is DaemonTools 4.03 with alle emulations on
-than i installed CureROM Pro v2.0.3 (creating a TQ profile with the built in wizard is quit easy)
-i used the mini-image from Bender
-so i let do curerom all the work, starting the game, mounting the image and so on
-at least i have deleted the video folder from TQ :)
-started up the game with the shortcut created by curerom
-putting all options to default (dont know if this is important to run the game smooth)
-so the fact is i played the game the whole day without a single crash


dont know if this works for others

i can upload my curerom-profile, if this will help in anyway

hoping someone could show a picture of how they got this to work with curerom.

i installed game unleased dvd version installed with dt4.3e i then proceeded to download latest curerom and select the exe file of titan quest it created a shortcut on my desktop i ran the game from that shortcut and it is doing the same thing, im getting moments where the game freezes and music goes haywire. I'm wondering if its something I did incorrectly in curerom. Any help is appreciated :)

hello guys, im having a problem with titan quest... the problem is when i double click on titan quest.exe the screen remains black (that's all u can see) the computer doesnt answer, and i have to restart my system.

The Crashes are not depending on the Cracks or the Mini Images. The game is buggy. Next week there will be an update to version 1.07 - that update should help and the random crashes and several sound problems.

Hi there,
I used the crack first, too and it crashed normally after 5-10 minutes.
I tried the "Playfix" wich extracts all the .arcs, too, but the game still crashed.

Now I use Bender´s Mini Image + CureROM 2.03 and it works all fine.
(I dont know if that matters, but I also told my firewall to block Titan Quest.exe at alle Ports)

PS.: If the crashes are only caused because of bad coding, then why did the demo version work all fine on my system and the systems of my friends?

The demo probably worked properly because it contained very reduced game content. (It's easy to make software work when it does only ~10% of what it is supposed to do when it's finished...! ;))

This game is driving me nuts. Doesn't matter if I use crack, mini-image or original disc... Problem for me is that my Razer Diamondback drivers makes the game crash. So I get bluescreens and auto reboots in the game after varying time... There's a thread about the problem on the games official boards too... God I hope the patch will fix that or Razer will release an updated driver.. :(

I am using a legit version and I am not using the cracked .exe but I am having the same problems described here so I thought it couldn’t hurt to share my experiences.

I tried the all of the fixes posted thus far, the fix requiring the use of the .bat file (to extract the .arc files) though gives me errors relating to .dll files (none of which are the two included in the fix and any dealing with the game itself). The reatiVE fix doesn't seem to do anything, was it only meant for cracked exe versions?

I tried updating too but I got an error when I try to run it. I reinstalled the game and got the patch to take but it didn’t change anything, I still get crashes.

I called support and while they were nice people they were completely clueless. They said the patch fixes instability problems but apparently not the ones I am experiencing.

What sucks is that I can’t take this POS back and get a refund. Well I suppose I could make a scene or something but grr, why can game developers get away with releasing faulty software and you the consumer can’t even get a refund?

Anyways, sorry for the rant but what a waste of money and time.

Just to confirm, if anyones wondering, the new patch is now detecting Daemon Tools.

I patched my machine, tried to play with my backup = detected Daemon Tools. Put in the original, works fine.

Just to clarify, I have an alcohol copy of my original, DT running with no drives but RPSM emulation working and this worked perfectly before the patch and I wasn't getting any crashes either.

P.S I do have an original, admins feel free to PM me to ask for proof :)

Last night I patched my Titan Quest to v1.08 and I used the Mini-Image
from GCW (Mounted in DTools v4.03) with CureROM v2.03. ALL WORKED
FINE and I shouldn't back the original DVD from my Box.

must have CureRom installer, DaemonTool installer, Bender's mini-image for TQ (look for it at gamecopyworld and store it at a permanent place u want coz we'll use it everytime we want to play), Titan Quest the game itself, and the patch (try to look for it at the titanquest official website, coz i got mine from fren) ...

1. Uninstall the game
2. Uninstall CureRom and Daemon tool
3. Restart pc (coz, u must, if u try, u'll see)
4. Install the game
5. Patch the game
6. Install Daemon tool
7. Install CureRom - create new profile -> click Next -> For application, browse for ori titanquest.exe file from where-u-install-it -> click Next -> Image mounting software - use Daemon tool -> Backup file - choose the mini image u download earlier -> click next -> Put the shortcut name (whatever u want) - >click Next -> Click Save -> Click Finish
8. Double click the Icon that u just created (with the name that u wrote before).
9. See if u can play

From my experience, while installing the game, it's like there is some kind of Daemon tool, or Cure Rom detector that was executed during installation, so, thats why i dunt need those software before installing the game.

I feel sorry for that, coz when i wrote those things, thught it'd be help to somebody.

But i did delete some things in ...\My Games\Titan Quest folder. I delete the entire folder except the folder with the name of ur character (eg. _Pantakos), i cut it to desktop, and put it back in where it supposed to be once the game is executable, maybe u wanna try, coz i think there are nothing else that i did before i start installing a fresh copy.

edit : ... and i also deleted anything in the game folder, wherever u saved it (either D:\ or C:\)

Im from Germany, so I translate my problems as far as i can.

On one computer the game ist working fine. I installed the game, patched it and then created a CureROM-Profile for Titan Quest, which included a mini-image. Then, on another computer, i did it just the same way, but it's not working.

It says, that Titan Quest.exe caused an error. I should restart the game and an error log will be provided.

1. I can't find the error log.
2. Maybe Titan Quest doesn't work because the computer has Windows 2000. On the other, where Titan Quest works, is Windows XP.

It wouldnt have really as its already running in win2k mode, you cant run something in compatibility mode, when its already in that mode.

How am I supposed to play the game if it reads my CD as a backup? I had DT instsalled and figured it's just thinking my CD was an image, but after I uninstalled DT and reinstalled Titan Quest, it's still saying I'm using a backup! :mad:

I also tried the pr0t.st0p and asr.exe method with no positive results (same error). Same here: After updating to version 1.08 it does not start with org. DVD because it sees "Emulator Software". With Mini Image it crashes every few minutes.
It seems that this shitty piece of Software has problems with Intel Core Duo CPUs - I looked into several forums and all user with Intel Core Duo CPUs have the same Problems - so the Mini Image is not the Problem . . .

Don't really know if i'm breaking rules so here goes. My serial starts with a9e9-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. I like to play off backups and I was wondering if anyone had tried the patch with a serial like that? I use daemon tools and curerom pro and it seems like some of the issues with the game are with certain serial numbers being blacklisted. I don't want to restart the game (again) which is what tech support seems to be saying as Iron Lore is giving out alternate serials. For some reason I had many more crashes playing with the DVD than off the hard drive with a virtual. Just wondering and if i broke any rules i'm sorry. I've been a voyeur on this site for a long time and even though this is my first post i've been helped many times by the judicious use of the forum search function, Which, IMHO is vastly under-used:) There is no way i would intentionally do anything to bring down the heat here. Here is what has worked for me--both with the release version and the patched version (v1.08).

*Programs used:

A120% v1.9.5.3823
DT v4.03
CureROM v2.0.3

This is what I did. I loaded Bender's mini-image into the one virtual drive I have acticated thru DaemonTools v4.03.

I used CureROM v2.0.3 to set a profile and launched the game using the desktop shortcut CureROM created for me. When I made the profile, I didn't click on any special settings. I just followed directions to link CureROM to the .exe file, emulation software being used, etc.

The game booted up just fine w/o any messages about detecing emulation software.

Interestingly, when I ran the game in this way (using the original .exe but using the mini-image using DT v4.03), the game didn't crash at the first cave (it used to crash when I used the no-cd file by Reloaded).

Even after the patch update, this method of starting the game continued to work.

To get the best results do this when using the reloaded crack:
Install crack (doh)
set it in Win98 compatibility mode, that will stop a lot of game related crashing for some reason.. :)

Just been watching the thread for quite a while and i've been doing just that, getting the latest cracked exe for the update version of titan quest (after applying the update, of course) and well, it's working but after like 5 minutes, every 10 secondes i got a 4 secondes lag which is extremly annoying. I've tested the resolution/details/etc and nothing fix that and i don't have that strange lag with the other cracks/mini image but instead i have that annoying crash every 5minutes or so. Ah well :rolleyes:

Do you have several copies of the game and used a different CD-key for some reason? Characters only work with one key, so if you change, you can't see the character unless you reinstall with the same key you had when you made the characters.

I posted a method I used earlier to get TQ to work with the new v1.08 patch. Later on, however, the game began to crash again. So I switched to the original DVD and the game still crashed.

After some troubleshooting, I found the reason. For me, it wasn't the problem with the emulation program but rather my aging GeForce 6800GT. For some reason, TQ really taxes the GPU--even with my watercooling setup. So, when I downclocked my card's speed to its original 375MHz speed for the core from its BIOS-flashed 420MHz(but kept the memory at 1100MHz), the game stop crashing.

I guess with the summer heat (California), TQ was causing the GPU to get too heavy and hot. =P

Here's another problem I found.I have the original & the no DVD patch worked but then the game wouldn't let me have the update so I put the original exe back & it let me have the game update.So being clever I put the no DVD patch back in & guess what-the game crashed.So it was back to the original exe again & NO crashes.I also found the trainers I have tried wont work!.

yeah, just updated to 1.11 and forgot to unload the image so when it started the game after the patching process i thought it had blacklisted daemon tools or asr.exe or something...

ive tried just about everything to try and get it to work again :/
looking forward to a way to get playing this thing again :D

Here's how it worked for me

1) uninstall antiblaxx – very important because its mess up your SecuROM
2) If you have any other virtual drive software like Alcohol 120% etc, disable any virtual drive and emulation option.
3) Mount the image with DAEMON Tools version 4.3.
4) Deselect any emulation option in DAEMON Tools.
5) Close the taskbar icon of DAEMON Tools.
6) Use SR7.STOP version 1.2 Beta to hide the virtual drive.
7) Close the SR7.STOP program - Very Importent
8) Use asr.exe –r option to run the Titan Quest.exe file

It worked for me

I never had the securerom in my Titan Quest folder. I am still unable to run it with the patch. I have tried running it with Curerom and I get the cd error. I tried it with SecureRom and I got in ONCE and it crashed in 2 mins. Any other advice would be appreciated.

ok, i´m german, so pls excuse my "speach". as i experienced the same probs and spend the whole evening finding a solution, i HAD to register, just to tell you what to do! (exept go out there and buy this game!)
i just finished one and a half hour of playing without crashing, so i guess "my" solution should do the trick...
here it comes:
- deinstall all that stuff! deinstall titan quest, deinstall cure rom, deinstall win-xp! (just kidding, keep xp!) don´t worry about your saves, i deinstalled a couple of times but my chars are still there!
- get yourself the latest daemontools and mount your tq-file
- install tq
- go into your games/titanquest (or whatever dir!) and rename the "videos" folder into whatever you like (skips the fu---ing non-skippable intro!)
- get yourself this "securom-loader 1.2" and put it anywhere you like EXEPT into the titan folder!
- rename this "asr.exe" into "explorer.exe"
start asr, choose "titan quest.exe" from your game dir and have fun!
easy, eh?




oh... i see...... forgot the cruicial part! the patch! do not, i repeat: DO NOT use the ingame updater! get yourself this 1.01-1.11 patch and patch manually!!!

On my pc titan quest crashed everytime i talked to an npc or closed a merchant window.In the end after reading different forums i did this:
asr was renamed to explorer.exe and was ran in 98 compatability
i ran Pr0t.St0p v1.0 and hidden all
Titan quest ran from asr but titan quest was in 98 compatability
game didnt crash.

before it used to last 5 mins if the game even loaded as it sometimes crashed while loading up but last night i played for 2 hours and it didnt crash once.

1.11 runs fine with mini image, before you say the crashes are because of that try disabling sound in the game all together. The game is still bugged and it crashes with some sound drivers...

but now i'm getting a different error after the little securerom icon spins - number 5000 "conflict with emulation software detected".

I'm using the latest Alcohol 120 and the mini-image. using asr renamed to explorer.exe to open TQ in "win98 compatability mode".

any ideas what to do now to fix this new problem?

This is what I did to start the game but the game crashed in 5 minutes:

(1) Downloaded and patched TQ to v1.11 using the v1.08 to v1.11 patch.

(2) Loaded the mini-image #3 from GCW to Daemon Tools virtual drive.

(3) Turned DT off saying "no" when it asked me if I wanted to leave the emulation on.

(4) Copied asr v1.2 to the Desktop, renamed the file to "explorer.exe," and ran the game.

(5) The game ran, my saves and character were there, and I started the game.

(6) At first, everything ran well--no problems with graphics, sounds, whatever.

Then, in about 5 minutes when I'm in the middle of a fight, the game crashes to the Desktop. When I tried to restart the game again using the same method, my saves were corrupted.

Anticipating this kind of outcome, I had a backup of my save games, thank goodness.

Guess I'll have to either play off the original disc or wait for a v1.11 crack.

ok, i´m german, so pls excuse my "speach". as i experienced the same probs and spend the whole evening finding a solution, i HAD to register, just to tell you what to do! (exept go out there and buy this game!)
i just finished one and a half hour of playing without crashing, so i guess "my" solution should do the trick...
here it comes:
- deinstall all that stuff! deinstall titan quest, deinstall cure rom, deinstall win-xp! (just kidding, keep xp!) don´t worry about your saves, i deinstalled a couple of times but my chars are still there!
- get yourself the latest daemontools and mount your tq-file
- install tq
- go into your games/titanquest (or whatever dir!) and rename the "videos" folder into whatever you like (skips the fu---ing non-skippable intro!)
- get yourself this "securom-loader 1.2" and put it anywhere you like EXEPT into the titan folder!
- rename this "asr.exe" into "explorer.exe"
start asr, choose "titan quest.exe" from your game dir and have fun!
easy, eh?




oh... i see...... forgot the cruicial part! the patch! do not, i repeat: DO NOT use the ingame updater! get yourself this 1.01-1.11 patch and patch manually!!!

here is more info for my problem (error 5000: conflict emulation software)

I am using Pr0t.st0p and newest asr.exe. asr.exe is renamed explorer and is outside of game directory. compatibility mode is win98. tried mounting mini image through alcohol 120 and also through DT 4.03. i have uninstalled antiblaxx and used the registry fix to get rid of its problem. i have no other anti security things installed except for dvddecrypter. emulation settings in DT and alcohol are all turned off.

i hope for a fixed exe someday soon . :)

I made sure to turn all of its emulation settings off, exit DT, and use Pr0t.St0p, but it still detects DT 4.03HE...

do you have programs like antiblaxx installed (anti-blacklisting programs), if so there are regisrty fixing tools on CureROMs site.

Here is what i do:

1- mount mini-Image #2 in DT (You might want to Close DT after mounting and Keeping emulation options ON).
2- Start AlkiSecuROM.
3- Select TitanQuest.exe.
4- Play the Game.

No Proto.Stop no SD4Hide, nothing else. if your version of windows have been installed a long time ago, then it might have a missed-up regisrty. i suggest installing a fresh copy of windows, and trying again.

i hope that works.

For me, I had success when I kept the emulation options OFF.

As for other virtual programs, the ones that had been installed on my computer when TQ v1.11 worked for me are CureROM v2.0.3.1, Daemon Tools v4.03, and A120% v1.9.5.3523.

I used Websurfer's method

Have you tried the method WebSurfer posted about? The one involving Bender's image + CureROM Loader (not CureROM) + Daemon Tools v4.03?

That method worked for me whereas all other alternative methods failed.

I wonder why a cracking group hasn't released a no-cd for the 1.11 patch of this game. The game seems pretty popular, and it was on the top 10 bestselling games list for a few weeks.

Shame though. Such a polished games deserves some attention from the no-cd wizards. I've got about 12 games on my PC right now, and switching CD's every time I switch what I'm playing is driving me batty!

I can't speak for everyone, but using mini-images is just as annoying as swapping cd's, so I don't really consider it a solution.

i guess this Reloaded guy does not see the need to bring it up to version 1.11 plus i did raise the game to version 1.11 with the step that people were giving here and there but the game crashed on me after five minutes.

Yes it would be nice to have a no cd for 1.11 but it ain't worth it in my opinion...i giess he is waiting for a more important release..and also imagine having to do a no cd patch for all the time a new patches comes out.

The problem here is that there is only a few people able to make those types of cracks..what we need is gather the know how on how to make those no cd patches some people could get into it and we would not need to wait for one guy to please a gazillion people..

we need for people who have info to start posting the process on how to make those cracks...if a person can do it then other people can make it too...

So if you want to do, go learn ASM fully. And then come back in a few years and try.

If you have crashes about this game, i am going to tell you a quick tip, update the game to 1.15 version and run the game with asr.exe then in the main menu press ctrl+alt+del and stop the asr.exe and play the game without crashes...

Upgrade to v 1.15 (Windows XP)

Uninstall your Titan Quest. Delete the Titan Quest file and re-start Windows.

1. Install Daemon Tools (Daemon Tools Core Files (required) and Start Menu Shortcuts)
2. Right click Virtual Daemon Manager in Task Bar
3. Click Virtual CD/DVD Rom
4. Click Device 0: …..
5. Click Mount Image
6. Direct into the quest directory Titan Quest
7. Click Titan Quest.B5T
8. The Game should now open the Install page
9. Install Game as normal, entering the Serial number
10. Unmount the virtual Drive from Daemon Tools (right click Daemon Tools – etc. - Un-mount)
11. Apply Patch v1.01 to v1.08
12. Run Patch v1.08 to v1.15
16. Unpack the Mini-Image 2. This can be downloaded at GameCopyWorld (only use the Image
#2 NOT #3 as this gives you the black screen after the games Intro)
17. Unmount the huge TQ ISO and mount the TQ mini-image.
18. Run CureROM (I use v2033)
19. Click Next, Application Settings: Application: choose Titan Quest, click Next, Image Mounting: choose: use Daemon Tools, click Next, Click Next, Save, Next.
20. Use the new Application Icon on your desktop to start the game. Keep the Mini Image mounted.
21. Enjoy the Game! :D

If I'm not mistaken, you're using a full image to install the game. Is there any special setting you used in Blindwrite when creating that full image from the DVD? Also, I don't understand step #12: Run Patch v1.18 to v1.15. Are you downgrading the game or is this a typo? :)

This is complicated. I tell you a great and easy solution, install the game and upodate the game to the 1.15. Then right click the titan quest.exe and make the win 2000 compatibility then mount the mini image. Then start the Pr0t.St0p and hide virtual devices and run the game with asr.exe i am playing the game since 10 hours and there is no crash.

Acare84, Its not complicated at all. I was just trying to give a step to step explanation for people that struggle. Its actually the same way you do it. Just upgrade and use a mini Image with daemon together with CureRom. I didn't try Pr0tSt0p - it might also work. :rolleyes:
I also pointed out, especially for biglos187, that one should use a special mini image in order to get the game running in the first place. ;)

The reason why I personally use an Image is because my original CD is badly scratched and is not readable anymore. My friend was able to create an image though, but as I mentioned before I do not know how he did it. There are various programms available to rescue data on broken CD's and DVD's.
Anyway, as mentioned also, I did not experience any crashes with the way I start the game. That's why it is wise to upgrade to v1.15.:D

Are you trying to crack TQ, seeing that you ask for a key. It should be in your posession if you have an original copy! :rolleyes:

When mounting the image file, does it matter what drive you have the game installed on? I'm getting an error after the image is mounted when I open Securom 1.2 saying that the virtual drive cannot be read correctly.

I can open other images just fine

I don't think it matters to what drive you install the game to. I use my default C: drive. Try using CureROM instead of Securom. I also experienced porblems with Securom - some emulators didn't work. :o
