I've tried using the noCD mini image on GCW with Daemon 4.03 but not much happens, when I mount the image explorer opens up I then double click the autorun.exe and a dos screen briefly opens and then closes and that it! Help what am I doing wrong?
Appreciate any help
Thanks

Errrr mini-images are for running anything from them, they are small in size since all the files are empty only the protection remains.
I believe 'Dabhand' has done a small typo here?
Errrr mini-images are for running anything from them.......
It should have been:
"Errrr mini-images are not for running anything from them...." ;)
@matmajot
Install your game from the original Discs, then mount the 'mini image' in DT, when the window opens close it. Then start your game using the original desktop shortcut.
Mini images only fool the protection into thinking you have the dvd/cd in the drive. ;)

Your problem is explicitly covered by the FAQ; read it through carefully, you may find lots of useul information in it.

Thanks for all your reply's but I'm affraid I'm still no closer to playing thegame without using the CD. Here's what I'm doing
1. Disable all DVD/CD Rom drives in Device manager (they now all hav a red cross on em)
2.Open DT
3. Mount no cd mini image from GCW into DT (this then brings up windows explorer window showing various files including autorun.exe)
4. Shut down window explorer
5. Click on shortcut to War on Terror which has been installed by original disks
6 War on terror starts but then comes up with a error saying "Insert the WFOR disk into another drive and press retry"
If this is covered in a FAQ bit then I've been unable to find it please could someone post the link or if not let me knw where I'm going wrong
Thanks in advance for any help its much appreciated

You may have to physically unplug the IDE cables from your CD/DVD drives.
Honestly some starforce protected games are just easier to play using the original discs!
Even better, dont even purchase any starforce games! Boycott any game which uses starforce. Works for me. :p

Yeah think your right Grumpy - I'll just use the disks and avoid buying em in the future! Thanks for your help :)
