Ok I will admit I am new at gaming work arounds. Can someone assist me with Guides and Details on how to play my Myst IV Dvd based game from my hard drive instead of having to use the disc. I have done a full install and have installed the v1.03 patch. I have done some reading here in the forums and I have seen that there are some replacement files available for downloading. This is where my questions begin, what are these files and what is it they are doing to allow me to play the game without the disc?

After a full install, is the only purpose of the disc to show that you own the game, or are there files that are referenced during game play?

I have an ISO image of the game that i have saved to my hard drive and I tried to mount the image using Daemon tools, I got to the menu screen of the game and then it "encountered an error" and could not continue. So I concluded that it is no as simple as backing up the image to my HD and playing.

Can someone help out with information and guidence?

Thanks,

Vw

(Wrong forum, moved.) Read the FAQ for information on how to use cracks.

Just update the game to v1.03, then use the cracks found for v1.03 on GCW: http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_myst_4.shtml

That should negate the need for the DVD onec installed.
