HELP NEEDED:all my pc cd/dvd r drives stopped burning

hi could anyone help me plz,i have a dvd wr drive and a cd wr drive on my pc,they bought read games,dvds,programms,everything but when it comes to record/burn music, games,movies,everything it always stops or saying that cant continue recording cause there is an error which finishes up to throw a cd each time,or when it comes to my dvd drive it cannot even access the dvd or says that there is no dvd in drive.could this have somthing to do with alchohol 120% or deamon tools? i have also tried to uninstall these programms and when try to burn cds/dvds did not have any luck.plz any feedback as i have my hard drive nearly full now as its already 2 months that i have this problem .10x in advance for any help.

Update your IDE and other drivers; perhaps, remove the custom IDE driver and let the system fall back to the "Standard Dual PCI IDE Controller" driver instead. (See my weird problems at http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=75481 ). Also, take the drive out of your PC and try it on another PC; if it works there, you only have some software problem; if it doesn't, the drive itself might be physically fucked up. Good luck!
