hi
i have recorded some tv programmes that i had on video casette (vcr)
on to dvd-rw with my dvd vcr combi they all recorded and works in my dvd vcr combi but i want to record them to dvd-r so i can play them in my other dvd player but my pc wont even acknowledge the disks i have tried it in my sony and in my pioneer dvd writers but still nothing can any1 please help thanks.

Those DVD's might be written with some non-standard format. Try ISOBuster (http://www.isobuster.com) to find out their format and extract data from them.

hi thanks for your quick reply
i used iso buster and i managed to get a image file
but when i try to use nero it comes up saying image bigger than 2gb
so can't be stored in a iso file system can you tell me what i need to use so i can get the image to disk thanks.

For files larger than 2 gigabytes, use the UDF file system instead.

However, if you made an image of those DVD's then the DVD and/or the videos might still be in some weird format, so you might not be able to play them on DVD players or personal computers other than that DVD/VCR combi player/recorder. (Let me guess: is it Panasonic?)

So, extract the files first and try to play them with your favorite PC media player, or see MPlayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu) for a plays-everything-you-throw-at-it-even-if-doesn't-look-particularly-nice, multi-platform media player.

how do i extract the iso file so i can test it with windows media player
also how do i get to the udf file system thanks again.
