hey thanx for reply btw
the SCPH is SCPH-39001
YUP it is a DVD+R / R9 Disc size 8.5gb
and i figured it out with my chip version it is 1.38 version had it installed last october '05
yea a newbie with this stuff hehe :o
plz help thanx again!
You have a v7 so it should be able to read the +R9 disc.
Try updating to firmware v1.75 available at www.infinitymod.com (http://www.infinitymod.com)
Burn the Bin/CUE File in the Download to a CD-R, boot up in the PS2 and follow the on-screen instructions.
Then try your disc...

The infinity didnt support dual layer back-ups until firmware 1.4 and 1.45. Simply flash the chip with 1.75 and hopefully it will work for you.
Just make sure you have a real Matrix Infinity before flashing (not Modbo Chip etc) otherwise you'll render the chip useless. Many clones featured v1.38 firmware, so just watch out for that one. Providing you used a reputable installer, you should be fine... :)

thanx mates one quick question how do i know if its a real matrix infinity chip? also i found on this forum a patch that allows the ps2 to recognise the dl dvd. dl patcher what is your opinion on that? thanx again u guys are awesome!!:D
The DL Patcher is a good piece of software, but I believe the later versions of the Infinity software recognise DL backups without being patched.
As for being able to tell if your infinity is real, try to toggle some of the options in the Configuration menu - and reboot. If everything is saved and the system reboots fine, then chances are you have a real Infinity, but the only REAL way to tell is to flash that Infinity ;) (or open your console and look).
Where did you get the mod installed or did you do it yourself?
