should we delete the 0pl_compressed??
well i did it, and deleted all the things you said, and edited the thing with wordpad etc... and PC REBOOTED at 76% when installing... the bad archive was the **european files help** or some file like that...
then i tryed to delete only basic files, 0fr-fr_compressed.zip 0it_compressed.zip 0de_compressed.zip, nothing else... and i got reboot... well, a normal rip of my dvd works, and install, plus the dvd itself works...
any idea? i have XP SP2 too...
Sorry mate - I should have been clearer, was referring to the fact the guide isn't the most efficient...
You could be a getting reboots because you haven't changed the language=1 to language=0 for the language zip files your removing?
You could also try deleting the files he said - except keep the ones you wanna keep. But instead of just deleting the unwanted zips, just replace them with zips of the same name containing 1 small dummy file - say an empty .txt document?
That should certainly work...
If not then its prolly something wrong with your config?
Have you tried your ogriginal?
The steps do work, although the naming of a few of the files are wrong - he's written Po instead of Pl for a few of the language files...
something like that anyway...
its DOES work
it DOES install
and it DOES play...
sorry for caps, just to clarify :)

No help so I gave it a try on my own for the 6 cds to one dvd. Got it to work:D
Here is the steps: 1. Copy the contents of all 6 cds in to a folder from last to first 6 to 1 overwriting files when it ask. Then replace file common_filelist.txt with the one I attached. Name the DvD LOTRBFME2-1 should work:D :eek:
@COOLRAIL
Well done!
See now aren't you glad no-one helped you? Now youve managed to learn something new. ;)
EDIT: I will eventually give your conversion its own thread and add it to the Index. :)
I feel like I need to correct you on ". Copy the contents of all 6 cds in to a folder from last to first 6 to 1 overwriting files when it ask"
- files like CS11.vp6 did not copy on their own, you would have to manually copy this bunch from CD 2 and CD 3 into movies directory, and than it will work 100% - at least this is how it worked for me :)
Still great job thanx!

You can also use my conversion, it's on GCW, also as an attachment here.

I have the 6 cd version, copying them all from 6 to 1 overwriting everything and then using PowerBox's file worked well
Thankyou

Thanks, works great!!
just an observation:
po folder is no folder
and ereg-dict-po.xml is ereg-dict-no.xml
Hi guys, I'm Italian and I wanted to make a personal REPACK of this game. I had a mind to make a MULTi2 version, with ITA and ENG languages only.
I've read the whole guide and, if I've understood correctly, this should be the final result. Check on the images and tell me if I've done all right, or rather if I've deleted the right files.

Hope somebody helps me! Thanks!;)
This conversion is really easy and miscellaneous because you can install game without DVD 2 for favorite languages.
DVD1
Label: whatever you want (i called it LOTRBFME2_DVD1)
Files:
All files except:
0es_compressed.zip (move it to DVD2)
0fr-fr_compressed.zip (move it to DVD2)
0it_compressed.zip (move it to DVD2)
+ create new txt files for those files exact names:
add this line to txt files:
es_filelist.txt
2,1,Support\es\leeme.txt
fr-fr_filelist.txt
2,1,Support\fr-fr\lisezMoi.txt
it_filelist.txt
2,1,Support\it\Leggimi.txt
(Blue "2" means DVD2)
Note: You can add also more files and custom files eg. fixed game.dat :)
Eg. Leggimi.txt will be copied to:
<GamePath>\Support\it\Leggimi.txt
<GamePath> (depends on language) usually C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm) II\
This will cause if you install game in Spanish, French, Italian, installer ask you insert DVD2 and will automatically copy 0**_compressed.zip archive + files in **_filelist.txt
DVD2
Label: whatever you want (i called it LOTRBFME2_DVD2)
Files:
(you can copy whole "Support" folder or at least files (eg. "Support\fr-fr\lisezMoi.txt") you need from it_filelist.txt, fr-fr_filelist.txt, es_filelist.txt)
Support\
0es_compressed.zip
0fr-fr_compressed.zip
0it_compressed.zip
LotRIcon.ico (if you do not have you can download it here: BFME2 [2xDVD5].rar (http://fileforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5490&stc=1&d=1263120523))
autorun.inf
[autorun]
Icon=LotRIcon.ico
Name=The Battle for Middle-earth II
[Special]
Disk=2
ProductGuiID={2A9F95AB-65A3-432c-8631-B8BC5BF7477A}
Install sequence:
DVD1 (only) (for German, Swedish, Dutch, English, Polish, Norwegian)
DVD1 - DVD2 - DVD1 (for Spanish, French, Italian)
DVD1 4374 MB (101 MB free)
DVD2 1308 MB (3167 MB free) (you ca add here your favorite maps, mods, tools, trainers etc. :) a lot of space
Note: You can do it similar if you want Spanish, French, Italian on DVD1, just create de_filelist.txt and move "0de_compressed.zip" to DVD2 and one of 0es_compressed.zip , 0fr-fr_compressed.zip , 0it_compressed.zip to DVD1.
