Did you try setting the games exe file to use windows 2000 compatabilty mode, I don't have the game myself but I know that fixes issues with some other game cracks.

I think this is not a problem with the game, but with SecuROM, I get the same problems with my Tony Hawks game, which also uses SecuROM 7. (yes, using original disc, and tried using an image with curerom.) But got the same problem.

perhaps he meant the crack doesnt work with the original cd in as well, but as you say, if it was the case that the original exe does not work with the original cd in then he should contact technical support.. but well if it didnt work with the original exe then i think we would have seen a lot more people bitching about it :)

sorry, I cannot confirm this. no probs with fixed exe here. Curerom method + image works as well.

BUT only if I rename it to anything other than crashday.exe, for example if I name it Testcrashday.exe it works...what is really weird though is that the cracked exe won't run even with the original disk if it is named crashday.exe, but hey, like I said, rename it and it works

I dont think i should say in Every post that im trying to use the fixed exe.
As for my Sig everyone should have something like that for the rest to determine if something in his rig is causing the problem.

Renaming the fixed exe doesnt work at all.

how to make it work...

1 : Convert the BIN/CUE or the CD-rom file for crashday to an ISO file, using "MagicISO"
2 : Mount the newly created ISO with a new version of "Daemon Tools"
3 : If you havent already installed the game then do so now (you dont need to reinstall or anything by the way)
4 : Obtain the reloaded fixed exe and overwrite the original exe with reloaded's exe
5 : Play!

Yo dudes whats this *******s at ten paces,lol. Thot we were talking about CRASHDAY nocd? anyhows this game only works for me using the origonal disk or mounting & using CureROM. Reloadeds NoCD .exe was a nogo for me :(

P.S. What i did notice is the origional exe file opens up a dos box before running game,where as reloaded's does nothin? as if you havent run file go figure!

NoCD works fine for me, just copied to the game dir and renamed the original of course.
Not running any crap like curerom, it runs without the disk.

Nforce 4, SATA HDD, Pioneer 110 connected via IDE.

Possibly try uninstalling the game and then re-installing. Don't boot it until you place the crack file in place.

Also, make sure you don't have any blacklisted programs running in the background.

What you're doing wrong is not reading the .nfo file of the crack and the FAQ.

I found that, with the crack, when you start crashday, it just opens up a window (as if your playing a modern game but in a window) with blackness in it, you can still hear the sound

It certainly is NOT an MS-DOS box.

All you need to is wait about 1 min, then press ALT-TAB to switch it back to giving it windows focus a couple of times then you could see the graphics...

Then press ALT-ENTER

This will make it full screen

I still had my MSN icon flickering through the window, just setup the graphic options properly in the game, exit

Restart the game and everything is :)

If you are having trouble starting the game, try adding this switch to your shortcut command line; -skipvideo

Maybe that will help. It skips the intro videos.

After update 1.1 Reloaded 1.0 NoCD works fine for me, just copied to the game dir and renamed the original as old 1.1.

The question is if it is the 1.1 version if you use the 1.0 crack?!?
Is the game still stable, because the 1.0 version isn't really playable (the game idea is great but I thought that I'm a beta tester after playing 1.0)?

Different regions have been known to have different protections sometimes.


But its also a possiblity that PiD made an error and reported it was SF3.7 and not Securom.

nah, thats not possible to detect SecuROM7 as SF3 ;)
also it´s aray-scanner output, not PiD.

sf3 example scan:
- check .sforce is present
- is file a dll ? -> check version or report SF3 wrapped dll
- check for push xxxxxxxx & call to VM at EP
- some more checks

crashday EU version is SF 3.7, US is SecuROM 7

the only way worked for me is...

1) mount the image with daemon 4.03
2) set all emulation
3) run AntiSecuROM.exe
4) select Crashdaycr.exe

i can play this way, without pulling any device. ;)

hi guys, i am from greece so i supose i have the StarForce version of the game.
i was reading the thread and i was trying one by one ALL the ways everyone sugested, and ofcourse ALL the possible combinations of these ways and unfortunately no one work.

-Something else. with the crack it pops an aror about tne language.ini
-with the new crack (russian) it plays but in russian. and i can't understand a word.

Does anyone know what security porg do i have to use if the game has starforce the version thas one pal sayed that has ? (the italian i thinks ;) )

If you are not sure, which protection your game has, simply check the exe-file with Protection ID (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=45299)

If you want to play a backup of crashday without the dvd.

Try installing your iso with deamon tools v4.
And then mounting a mini-iso (mine is called 'crashday.bwt') via CureRom v2 Public Beta.

That works fine for me.

The game has been protected with Starforce in Russia & Poland (doh) and other countries (US/EURO) have SecuROM 7. Since the v1.1 wasn't cracked at all, you need to use your original disc. Full stop.

solution for v1.1 securom version, rename crashday.exe to something like crashday.exe.exe and use anti securom to load the game (obviously mount an image) and boom, the game works :) Did for me anyway.
might be wise to use the updated anti securom from daemon tools site, just to be sure.
