Has anyone or does anyone know how to remove this version from an exe? I've tried about everything possible....Who's the king of editing?

Thanks

Safecast 2.5 is the same as safedisc 2/3, but I'm not sure if there are stolen bytes included. Anyways, it can only be found in TRIALS of games and software... now why would you want to crack a trial??

nah sometimes its on the full products too, typically applications, and yeh its more or less baby safedisc 2/3

It's actually on a beta version of an exe that we were testing for a game that the game company has since quit working on. We are trying to build a mod and use that exe {since that exe had a few nice lil features in it } I've tried to use all of the safecast unwrapers but none of them can seem to unwrap this version. Any help would be great thanks!

yup, the only public wrappers are well out of date now, and what you are doing is probably illegal considering that you probably dont own the rights to the game, safecast aint really that hard, just requires a little bit of research. if the company has ceased on the product then you might have a better (and legal) chance by contacting them and asking for the unprotected executable and/or the source

I'm not worried about the legal issues cause I own a legal copy of the game, this was for a patch for the game that we were working on. The company has decided not to work on it anymore, and has quit on this game. Unfortunatly, they told me just to go out and find a hacked copy of it...lol
If you can lead me to the right direction for help on this i would appreciate it ..thanks

TippeX, do you know if it uses stolen bytes?

safecast 2.40.xx didnt use the stolen bytes, i presume u mean the cc -> handler->real code execution handled via the 'cleanup' program, 2.50.xx i think does use that system, atm theres not really a lotta difference between safecast and safedisc

Yeah, thought so... Alright, thanks for the info :)

As for removing it, look at some tuts for unpacking safedisc. That should get you started :) I remember there were quite a lot of them flying around...
