I purchased some games for $5 each because this local store was overstocked (and knows jack about pricing games, they even had Big Rigs on their shelves), Max Payne 2 and Scrapland for the PC. However, I recently found out that Scrapland uses Starforce. I havent installed it yet because I dont want that on my system (it was on it before, im not sure how, but I assume it was the free demo of trackmania and trackmania sunrise that I downloaded, although why you would need to protect a freely downloadable demo ill never know) and I really would rather NOT have that junk end up on my system again. Is there a way to install and run Scrapland without getting starforce installed as well? What about the trackmania games? I want to buy them, but I wont if they contain starforce.

See cracks for Scrapland at letter A ("American McGee's Scrapland") on GCW. As for Trackmania, see letter T. For Trackmania: Sunrise, there's no crack. Until there is one, play Trackmania: Nations, which is a free (!) stand-alone (!) game (see the General Gaming forum for a download URL; it has not been determined yet if it contains Starforce or any copy protection, though!).

I posted about nations. See, the DEMOS of Trackmania and Trackmania sunrise even contained starforce, and I heard some people say that Nations does too, I want to be sure before installing.

Also, woudlent installing the game then using a No-CD crack.

1. Cause starforce to be installed when the game is isntalled anyway

and

2. Make the game think im running a pirated copy when I attempt to play online or install a patch/upgrade?

Whoops, sorry about my confusion... :)

Anyway, then you're stuck with waiting until the publisher makes up its mind and releases an official update that removes Starforce. (Yeah, like that would be likely to happen... This game has been protected very well by Starforce until now, why would they remove it within a decade?)

As far as I know, both Trackmania Demo and Sunrise Demo contained Starforce.

Can confirm for sure, that all three Trackmania "Full"-Games are using Starforce. Trackmania, Sunrise (and their updates) and also the new giveaway "Nations" installing it on/into ur system.

Bah, bad english. To tired to clean it up...

lol, :D no i mean "Nation" doesn't not contain Starsh..... no reboot are needet as usefull by the SFdrivers, after first launch ,it run directly proper, but is not realy a beautifull game is a type of crap that aniway nobody will buy.
Now i have read some posts that say, if you install a starforce game all shit drivers are activated, i mean thei are an error the driver are only activated if you run the game at the first time (after reboot stape), otherwise they are just somme files identic as a text file, only by runing the game with original exe file the driver run on the machine, if you run directly the game with a proper nocd file the driver will never activated and the machine is not INFECTED by this schiot
To anderstand why all demos from starforce games are protected with starschiot is eazy to explain, if the demo are not protected by the same process as full game, it's to eazy to use a demo exe and convert it as a nocd.
