My kids are playing Sims 2 from few months with a mini-image from GCW. I purchased University and Nightlife expansion packs, and I intent to protect the original CD's again, using mini-images. But they can play only the last expansion pack installed, The Sims 2 isn't working, neither University if all of them were installed. Same problem if i install only one expansion pack, i can play'it, but Sims 2 don't. This things happens when i use the mini-images for play (i tried all). Resembling this (http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=72298).
Uninstalling Nightlife leave me with a working University, but no Sims 2. So on, uninstalling University take me to the working Sims 2. For me, it isn't viable such solution.
It is a workaround for that, or i remain stuck with the originals? Thanks in advance.

Do you get the same error when you use your original cds?

Of course you can only start "University" after installing it on main SIMS 2 and also only start "Nightlife" when installed after SIMS 2 + "University", as the latest installed expanasion pack contains everything of the previous versions!

It is the same as with The Sims 1, the only difference is, that during the installation of the expansion packs different installation folders are used at SIMS 2!

So everything works normal! :)

Of course, it wasn't a problem, it was the correct way of starting the game with the shortcut of the last expansion. Sorry for being so stupid. And using the originals wasn't helping at all. I was mislead into this confusion by the cries of my kids for theirs old saved games, that were carefully erased in the upgrade process. I took few lives of sims, so what? Progress demands sacrifices. They didn'y buy it. I will.
Thx guys, i must open for business now.
